We're absolutely buzzing to share that we've been shortlisted for Community Charity of the Year at the Kent Charity Awards! 🏆

Genuinely, this one means so much to us. It's not about the shiny trophy, it's about what it represents, every single hour our staff and volunteers have poured into this work, day in and day out, often without much fanfare at all.

To be recognised alongside so many other brilliant charities doing incredible things across Kent is such an honour. We're up against some proper fantastic organisations, and just being in that company says a lot about the community we're part of.

So this is a massive thank you to our team and volunteers. You show up, you care, and you make things happen. This shortlisting is yours as much as it is ours.

Fingers crossed for the next bit 🤞

We are relaunching our Cancer Support Club!

It will be every Thursday from 9am - 1pm and will run as a drop in session to offer support, information and a chance to socialise with those in a similar situation or just to take part in a creative activity to switch off from the world.

If you have any questions please drop us a message, or send us an email : [email protected]

Last week we took some of our Young Carers and their families on a day out to Margate, and what a day it was. Armed with bright pink bags and a pocket full of 2ps, we headed to the Turner gallery first and got creative in their drawing room. Then it was off to the seafront for ice cream, fish and chips, and a well earned stop at the arcades.

We want to say a massive thank you to Henry Smith for funding the trip and making it all possible. And to everyone who donated their 2ps, thank you too. This day simply wouldn’t have happened without you. 💛

Our previous Youth Trustee has moved into a new role on our Board, so we're looking for someone new to step in.

Dover SmART Project started out supporting young carers, and along the way we realised that to properly support a young carer, we need to support their whole family too. Now we want young people to have a real say in how we're run, not just take part in what we offer.

This is a voluntary role for someone aged 18 to 21, around 4 hours a month, over a 3 year term. You'll chair our Youth Council and feed into its ongoing work, bringing young people's voices straight to our Board of Trustees. No trustee experience needed, just a genuine want to see young people's voices shape how a charity is run.

Applications close Monday 28th September 2026.

To apply, send a short CV and a note on why this role is for you to [email protected]

Don’t forget, every Saturday we take over the Crosslinks Community Centre in Buckland for our smART Saturday Club. It’s open to ages 14 to 25, so if you are in the area, come and say hello to our friendly staff and get stuck in. We always come prepared with free drinks and snacks too.

Today our staff got stuck into Astor Secondary School's festival - Astorbury!
We had festival-goers embracing their inner art vandal and getting creative, all part of our The National Lottery Community Fund Route To Happiness project. A lovely day, and a great way to close out the academic year.
