The Alkham Valley Riding Centre Riding school based in beautiful East Kent countryside. Lessons throughout the week as well as shows, events and clinics.

Home of the Alkham Valley Community Project for supported sessions for RDA clients, care homes, schools and more. The AVCP is a charity dedicated to providing disabled and disadvantaged adults and children a way to connect with countryside. Through therapeutic Carriage Driving, Horse Riding and Horticulture we can offer new opportunities to meet new people, interact with animals and aim to promote health and well being. We wish to give people a different kind of experience perhaps not available beforehand, and most importantly to enjoy themselves. We aim to promote good community participation whilst they enjoy their time with us and hope to teach them new skills related to Carriage Driving, Sports Driving, Horse Riding and Horticulture. The Charity provides an excellent service with well trained staff. We regularly organise events and activities for everyone to join in with, including our "Saddle Club" which allows children to come up, socialise and work alongside the horses. Well that blew our minds 😵‍💫🤯…two hours after going live, and before we even advertised, our next clinic with Joe Bright Dressageis FULLY BOOKED.
What an incredible testament to Joe’s coaching and the huge impact he has on his riders.

New Term, new look! The eagle-eyed among you will have spotted that we have revamped our page, to better reflect the way that our activities have developed in recent years. This page will tell you all about our mainstream activities - if you would like to catch up with our therapeutic and subsidised activities, please follow our companion page, Alkham Valley Community Project.

We have an indoor riding arena, woodland trails, kind well-schooled horses and sympathetic, experienced instructors. Whether you are a nervous new starter or an experienced rider looking for a new challenge, the centre has something to inspire you.
