💛 Another Important Milestone for The Foundation

We are delighted to announce that The Fiona Brady Foundation is now officially registered with the Fundraising Regulator, the independent body responsible for overseeing charitable fundraising across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

But what does this mean for our Foundation and those who support us?

Registration demonstrates our commitment to fundraising in a way that is legal, open, honest and respectful, in accordance with the UK-wide Code of Fundraising Practice.

It means we have voluntarily committed to recognised standards of fundraising, placing transparency, accountability and public trust at the heart of everything we do.

For those who generously donate, organise fundraising events or support our campaigns, this provides an additional level of reassurance that we take our responsibilities seriously and are committed to maintaining high standards in how we raise funds.

It also allows us to display the Fundraising Regulator's official badge, demonstrating our commitment to responsible fundraising.

We've been working on something BIG....

On Thursday 8 October we started our most significant awareness campaign to date. We're delighted to announce that you can now find our Skin Cancer Awareness materials in twenty Boots pharmacy stores in Northern Ireland. 💛

We handed over 2,500 of our newly designed Trifold awareness leaflets, A3 posters for staff rooms and A4 posters for staff toilets. This marks the start of a partnership that will eventually see us working together for a second campaign during melanoma awareness month in May 2027.

The foundation would like to thank Janine and her staff for their willingness to support our mission ✨️

Important news ✨️

We're delighted to announce that yesterday, 6 October 2026 we received confirmation from the charities commission that our registration was complete and we now a registered charity.

This has taken almost a year of research, meeting with other charitable organizations and their CEO's as well as talking with numerous skin cancer patients. We're immensely proud of the work we've done so far and are excited to see what the future holds. ❤️

Gary Devenney still remembers the moment he first set eyes on his beloved Fiona Brady.

But instead of planning their lives together, he now visits her grave, after losing Fiona to aggressive secondary melanoma when she was just 36.

He has opened up on the heartbreaking story after a foundation was set up in Fiona's name.
