On Friday evening (they/them) facilitated a beautiful evening of gentle creativity and open conversation with exploring the idea of gender affirming care - what it means to you, to others, and why it matters 🤍

Through collaging, drawing, and discussion, the group took time to reflect, share, connect and create together.

Here are a couple of pics from the workshop 📸

This workshop was facilitated as part of the Out and About PEACEPLUS project which is co-delivered by FUSE arts and The Waterside Neighbourhood Partnership 🤝 the project is generously supported by the Derry City & Strabane District Council’s Local Co-Designed Action Plan, supported by - a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB) 🤝

Devin Kane is a trans, disabled artist from Derry, working across painting, printmaking, and writing. Their work often explores queerness, identity, and self-understanding - inviting others to slow down and see the humanity within. Their recent project, “We Have Always Existed”, centres on the re-humanisation of trans and non-binary people in a time of challenge and change.

✊ ‘Lads let’s be the generation that stops it’ ✊

We are incredibly proud of this EVAWAG mural project and of every young man who took part in it. Delivered in collaboration with Peaball Foyle Women's Information Network and Waterside NP with Hillcrest Trust Youth Club this project has been a powerful and meaningful experience that will leave a lasting impact on the community for years to come.

Designed to speak directly to their peers, the mural features impactful imagery of the participants holding placards with messages they developed collaboratively throughout the project. Their courage, honesty and willingness to be visibly represented on the mural has been truly inspiring. By putting their faces to these messages, they have taken a powerful stand and brought authenticity and impact to this work.

“It’s the right thing to be spray painting about,” said one project participant.

The mural aims to encourage other young men to reflect on their attitudes and behaviours, and to take an active role in creating a culture of respect.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in bringing this important piece to life. This initiative was made possible through funding from The Executive Office via The Waterside Neighbourhood Partnership through Derry City and Strabane District Council. 💜

🫕🌿 Workshop Recap 🌿🫕

On Thursday evening, as part of our PEACEPLUS Out & About programme, we were delighted to connect Annpurna with the ‘Ladies Connect’ group in Claudy to facilitate her beautiful new multi-sensory wellbeing workshop - The Annpurna Well-being Experience ✨

During the session, participants explored a mix of wellbeing practices - from discovering the scents, textures and tastes of different herbs and spices 🌿 to unwinding with gentle breathwork and movement 🧘‍♀️

The evening was rounded off with a tasting experience of some delicious dals, inspired by the flavours explored throughout the session 🫕

A big thank you to Annpurna for such a warm and engaging workshop, and to all the wonderful Ladies Connect members who took part 🤍

This workshop was part of Out and About - a PEACEPLUS project co-delivered by FUSE arts and The Waterside Neighbourhood Partnership 🤝

This group exhibition is a light-hearted ‘Soft Launch’ featuring the personal work of three local emerging artists - Ciara Darcy, Cora Nicholl and Gabi Brodowska. It brings together handmade fashion garments, intricately crafted accessories, and otherworldly illustrations.

Characterised by a diverse colour palette ranging from bold, vibrant pinks to delicate pastels, ‘Soft Launch’ explores themes of girlhood, niche culture, and dreamlike expression, offering an intimate introduction to each artist’s creative world.

📆 following tonight’s opening event the exhibition will run from Monday 21 - Friday 27 Feb

ℹ️ This exhibition has been organised and developed by Ciara, Cora and Gabi as part of their Silver Arts Award Leadership Project.

They are currently completing their Silver Arts Award with FUSE arts as part of Creating Creatives - a project co-delivered by FUSE arts and MayWe

Creating Creatives is generously supported by the Derry City & Strabane District Council’s Local Co-Designed Action Plan, supported by - a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).
