💙✨ The Blue Guardian and her children have awakened…

What a magical first night bringing the haunting story of the Blue Guardian to life once again as part of Derry Halloween 2026 👻

A huge well done to our incredible young performers who gave it their all and brought this haunting tale to life🕺🪩 and to Laura Jane for her stunning choreography 🤍

The children of the Waterside Workhouse are stirring in the shadows once again…👻🖤

Yesterday, our talented ‘Blue Guardian’ performers got stuck into a fun-filled costume distressing workshop at St Columb's Park House, guided by the brilliant Amy Carroll ✂️

From frayed fabrics and torn edges to stained and discoloured garments, our young performers had a ball getting creative and giving their costumes a suitably worn and weathered look! 🧟‍♀️

Thanks to the brilliant Allies.Studio, the network has had a colourful refresh, and we’re excited to share that the online platform is now up and running!

The North West Creative Network brings creatives from across the region together to connect, collaborate and support each other, both online and through our Creative Social events.

The Instagram page is a shared space for creatives to introduce themselves, share their work, promote events and opportunities, and discover what others are up to across the North West.

And the best part is, you can contribute to the page too! 🤗

Whether you’ve got a project to share, an event coming up, an opportunity to promote or just want to introduce yourself, you can invite as a collaborator on your Instagram posts so they can be shared with the wider creative community.

Things are starting to take shape for Derry Halloween…👻

The Waterside Women’s Centre, Cityside Women’s Centre and artist Amy Carroll have been busy creating large-scale willow lanterns for this year’s celebrations!

The finished lanterns will feature in Mute Meadows as part of Awakening the Walled City Trail and will appear in the Derry Halloween Parade 🎃✨

Aged 15-24 and looking for your next creative challenge? 👀

FUSE arts are recruiting a new group of young people to take part in our FREE 2026/27 Multidisciplinary Creative Youth Programme!

Whether you’re into music, dance, film, photography, painting, fashion or writing - or you want to try something new - this is a chance to explore your creativity, develop new skills and bring your ideas to life 💭

Running from November 2026 to May 2027, the programme will be shaped by YOU - your creative interests, ideas and goals will help shape the workshops, projects and opportunities we develop together.

You’ll get the chance to:
✨ Develop your creative practice and try new art forms
✨ Take part in workshops shaped around the interests of the group
✨ Meet, learn from and work alongside other young creatives
✨ Turn your ideas into creative projects and events
✨ Build your confidence and take on creative leadership opportunities
✨ Get support through group sessions and 1:1 tutorials
✨ Build your creative portfolio and achieve a Bronze or Silver Arts Award qualification

The Bronze (Level 1) and Silver (Level 2) Arts Awards are RQF-accredited qualifications awarded by Trinity College London, giving you formal recognition for the skills and experience you develop along the way.

🌀 Scavenge and Sculpt 🌀

Join us this Saturday, 3rd October, at 11am for a painting scavenger hunt around the National Gallery’s ‘Art on Your Doorstep’ collection outside the Tower Museum 🖼️🔍

We’ll go on the hunt for interesting shapes, patterns and details in the artworks, then head inside to transform our discoveries into colourful 3D paper sculptures.

Fold it, curl it, cut it, build it - turn what you see into something completely new.

🧑‍🧒‍🧒 This workshop is suitable for all ages but younger children may need help from a parent/guardian

As Derry Halloween gets set to celebrate its landmark 40th anniversary this year, one local arts organisation is getting ready to bring a haunting historic tale to audiences.

Join local artist Amy Carroll (Amy Carroll) at St Columb's Park House for a special two-part willow lantern-making workshop…🎃

Across the two workshops, you’ll create two willow lanterns. One will become part of a magical lantern display in Mute Meadows throughout the Awakening the Walled City Trail, while the other will be yours to carry in the Halloween parade ✨
