Marine Training Corps - Derby

Marine Training Corps - Derby We are open to youngsters aged between 9 and 21 (Cadets can join 9-17), and accept applications to join before the age of 9 for our waiting list.

Training will be split over training evenings, field days, some weekend camps and courses, and Summer Camp.

Thursday evening at MTC Allenton Derby, cadets spent the evening session -rock indoor climbing centre learning climbing and abseiling skills, a part of their adventure training syllabus.

Cadets conquered fears which made all instructors so proud of the cadets, 20 minutes in cadets was absolutely enjoying the activities and giving it their all.

Tuesday evening at MTC Allenton Derby unit, our senior cadets put MOI into action teaching some of our junior cadets well being lessons, covering hygiene in the field and how to tie their shoe laces, following on in the evening cadets covered map and compass in preparation for Thursdays lesson.

Tuesday evening at MTC Allenton Derby unit,
Cadets was out in the field, doing what cadets do best having fun and learning new field skills, cadets covered observation skills incorporating the clock system, judging distance and communication for first lesson, second lesson was patrolling and peeling off whilst using formations, hand signals and most importantly team work.
