Meet the Hub Plus Fellows

Today, we're getting to know Dr Tara George and hearing about her Creative Health Fellowship.

"Over the past year, I've had the chance to meet and learn from people across the creative health community, both locally and nationally. I've explored the research behind creative health and looked at how we can turn strong evidence into practical action that benefits people and communities.

I've also been inspired by a number of theatre productions, including Lifeline, Tell Me Where It Hurts and The Glad Game, all of which explore important health experiences through storytelling.

One of the biggest things I've learned is just how much fantastic creative health work is already happening. My challenge now is helping more people understand the value of creativity in health and building stronger connections between health services and the arts.

Long-term funding is also vital if these projects are going to continue making a difference."

Three highlights so far:
✅ Helping to develop a national Creative Health training module for healthcare professionals.
✅ Speaking at an international paediatric conference about creative health and young people.
✅ Supporting plans for a lung health choir in North Derbyshire.

Looking ahead
⭐ Strengthening relationships between healthcare and creative health organisations.
⭐ Exploring new opportunities for patient and clinician education through creative approaches.
⭐ Looking at how theatre could be used more widely in healthcare professional education.

We're looking forward to seeing what Tara achieves next through her fellowship.

What a night!

It’s been a few days since the Derbyshire General Practice Awards 2026. The Hub Plus team have been working hard behind the scenes for over the last year to make sure the celebration was a success.

We’d like to thank the Casa Hotel, the judging panel, guest presenters, host and of course all our fantastic guests. The night wouldn’t have been a success without you all.

🏆 Celebrating Award-Winning Leadership at Derwent Valley Medical Practice! 🏆

We are incredibly proud to announce that Gemma and our Reception Team have been recognised at this year’s awards, with winning the Leadership in Practice Award! 🎉👏

This fantastic achievement recognises the dedication, commitment and hard work that goes into supporting our staff and continually improving the care and services we provide to our patients.

A huge congratulations to Gemma, our wonderful Reception Team and the wider Practice Team, whose teamwork, compassion and dedication make such a difference every single day. 💙

Our reception team are often the first point of contact for our patients, and their contribution, alongside our clinical and non-clinical colleagues, is invaluable.

We are extremely proud of our whole practice team!

Dronfield Medical Practice is incredibly proud to have won the Practice Team Award at the Derbyshire General Practice Awards 2026! 🏆💙

We were also thrilled that our PPG was named runner-up for the Patient Champion Award. 🥈 💙
