The perfect place to begin your exploration, or rediscovery, of the Shropshire Hills - an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We will tell you some of the stories of this varied landscape, its people, its places, and its history and heritage. A visit to the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre will inspire you to explore the area and give you loads of ideas for places to visit and things to see and do. You are welcome to just pop in for a coffee or stay for the day - visiting the Secret Hills exhibition, exploring Onny Meadows, taking part in an activity.

Who or What am I? Answer: Common Blue butterflies. This year's long warm season had a third brood flying into October. Their caterpillars are attractive to certain ants, as the caterpillars produce honeydew, which the ants eat. In return, the ants often protect the caterpillars.

Who or What am I? Hint 2: Males usually have bright blue wings with a thin black border and white edges. The female is brown with a blue 'dusting' near the body. It has orange spots on the underside of its hindwings. Answer at 8pm

Who or What am I? Hint 1: They take special coloured substances called flavonoids from the plants they eat. These pigments absorb UV light and are stored in their wings. In females, these flavonoid pigments help attract males. Second hint at noon.

From all of us to all of you, thank you!! For coming out to support us again tonight. For braving the rain and enjoying our bonfire and fireworks ❤️

We were pleased to get a few dry spells too 😍

Huge thanks to our sponsors, Euro Quality Foundation and Craven Arms Town Council.

We think this year’s bonfire was the best yet so thanks so much to SAS for the donation of wood and for building it so well yet again! Thanks to Morris Corfield and Newington Garage for their wood donations too.

Thanks to our army of volunteers who are just awesome. For assisting in set up, bonfire building and the many jobs on the night. You’re all amazing 🌟

Thanks to our stalls, rides and Zara who kept us all dancing. Thanks for sticking with us, supporting our decision to go ahead and being as brilliant as ever.

Thanks to Peter and Sally at Titanium Fireworks for always being so reliable, so reassuring and for the most amazing firework display.

And last but most certainly never least, thanks to the thousands of you that came out again to support our event. It means the world that you love this as much as we do and we are so glad we were able to go ahead for you tonight and that you all continue to come, whether it’s in rain or shine 🥰
