Young woodies when hand raising i try to distance my self but sometimes its impossible and when they are the only one they tend to attach them self to you. When woodies are like this we have to soft release them, that means spending a considerable amount of time in an aviary with minimal contact and ideally more woodies. You can't hand raise a woody and release it while its tame, this is so dangerous. That woody is going to go up to every person it sees when its hungry, one person may be the wrong person. In an aviary they can learn to forage also. Even if not tame its best to have soft release.
Please keep this in mind if your having a go or hand raising a pigeon. My aviary is open for releasable woodies.
