The Deltic Preservation Society was formed in 1977 by a small group of enthusiasts determined to preserve a working Deltic diesel locomotive after final withdrawal by British Rail. The ambition has been achieved threefold by the successful purchase of Alycidon, Tulyar and Royal Highland Fusilier which have now been in preservation for 40 + years - longer than BR owned them! Our aims are to preserv

e, maintain and promote Deltic diesel locomotives. Our Deltics are now 60+ years old and need constant care to keep them operating. We rely heavily on our members and supporters who give generously through membership fees and donations.

And so the curtain closes on the first gala appearance of D9015 Tulyar.
Thankyou to everyone who came along and supported the DPS and the GCR over the last four days.
The loco performed extremely well with just a couple of minor faults developing on Saturday afternoon which resulted in a team effort that evening and early this morning to get the loco ready for Sundays rostered services.
As the mileage accumulates after the restoration snags are to be expected while the loco beds in.
