The theme of this year’s has been ‘Do you see me?’ 👀

It’s all about people with learning disabilities being seen, heard and valued.

This ranges from challenging outdated beliefs to listening to people’s lived experiences and calling for legal and societal change that will help people with learning disabilities lead fulfilled lives.

It’s crucial to continue striving for this, long after is over. 💛

People with learning disabilities make up a big part of our society, and they undeniably make it a better place. 🤝 Despite this, their needs and opinions are often overlooked.

This we want to stress the importance of advocating for people with learning disabilities in every way we can and creating a more accessible world.

Platform for Life is proud to be supporting Learning Disability Week. Led by Mencap, this week is for celebrating people with learning disabilities and highlighting their contributions, experiences and points of view. People with learning disabilities must be seen and heard in every area of life💜.
