More Than a Meal
Sixty families across Tendring will receive practical support to cook healthy, affordable meals at home thanks to a ÂŁ6,087 grant awarded through our General Funding Programme, including ÂŁ1,015 contributed by the local law firm Thompson Smith and Puxon Legal's charitable fund, the Thompson Smith and Puxon Foundation, which is administered by us.
The funding will help Bags of Taste deliver its Food Resilience Programme, supporting people experiencing food insecurity, poor health and financial hardship through ingredient packs, recipes, cooking equipment and one-to-one mentor support.
Sarah Ho**er, Head of Fundraising and Communications at Bags of Taste, said:
"We know that many families are struggling to eat healthy, affordable food, and Bags of Taste Tendring aims to address this. Our Food Resilience Programme is easy to do at home. All you need is a kitchen and a phone, and it's fun.
By the end of the programme, families can cook delicious, healthy meals from scratch and save a minimum of ÂŁ20 a week straight away. It's also a great way to get children involved in preparing and cooking different foods.
We are hugely grateful to the Thompson Smith and Puxon Foundation for supporting this project. Thank you so much"
Thank you to Bags of Taste for delivering this vital work.
