The August mentorship sessions have begun for our Hand in Hand students. Over the weekend 18 students from Namrata Shah shared a time together of fun, learning and challenge. The theme is Arise with Purpose - 'Who are you? What is your passion? What choices will you make?'
Yesterday and today around 100 students at New Hope will be having their sessions. There is always a lot of excitement amongst the students as they meet together.
Your gifts and prayers are greatly appreciated.

Hearing from the students that have benefitted from the input of our project partners and the support of Hand in Hand through the training and mentorship programme is always so encouraging. Students like Moses who is happy for us to share his story. Moses grew up in challenging circumstances but was supported through Daylove Children's Project. Moses has a strong and unwavering dream to become a professional footballer but after secondary school he made a practical and strategic decision to pursue a course in Plumbing Training Institute. His goal was to acquire a hands on skill that would support him financially while continuing to pursue a football career. Life has been challenging even through his studies, but he is grateful for the consistent support of Hand in Hand that has enabled him to complete his studies. The mentorship programme has played a significant role in shaping Moses' mindset, discipline and growth. He often draws upon the strapline 'The Making of a Champion' to push himself to give his best regardless of the circumstances. His long-term vision is to build a stable livelihood and improve the living conditions of his family. One of his deepest dreams is to buy his mother a water tank and water pump to permanently solve the challenges of their home.
Moses encourages other students supported by Hand in Hand to take good care of the resources provided to them, avoid wastage, remain focused on their studies, and maintain discipline. His message is simple yet powerful; if he has been able to make progress despite challenges, then others can also succeed.
Thank you Moses for sharing your story and thank you to Hand in Hand supporters - your gifts are making a difference in the lives of young people like Moses. https://www.handinhand.org.uk/donate

Great to spend time with our project partners JJCT, Uganda who are doing a great work in the heart of a rural community in Western Uganda. Impressed that despite few resources, children are being educated and students finishing JJ Excel are getting jobs or creating businesses. Well done to all those that are making it happen and for those supporters have been giving faithfully over many years. You are making a difference and transforming lives!

Another mentorship session with students at Nakuru Training institute. The energy and engagement from the students has been fantastic . Peter comments: Yesterday we gave students an assignment ‘What would you like people to say about you when you die.’ Basically what legacy are they building to leave behind.
Some selected responses attached…
Thank you to all for making this happen. young people

Its mentorship season once more! Hand in Hand students have been engaging with mentorship sessions at both Namrata Shah and New Hope. The students are looking at the subject of strengthening their core in order to stand strong with all the external pressures they face. A mixture of listening and activities make the whole experience fun.
It's great to see past students, like Ruth, leading sessions at a place that she was once supported through.
