Another mentorship session with students at Nakuru Training institute. The energy and engagement from the students has been fantastic . Peter comments: Yesterday we gave students an assignment ‘What would you like people to say about you when you die.’ Basically what legacy are they building to leave behind.

Its mentorship season once more! Hand in Hand students have been engaging with mentorship sessions at both Namrata Shah and New Hope. The students are looking at the subject of strengthening their core in order to stand strong with all the external pressures they face. A mixture of listening and activities make the whole experience fun.
It's great to see past students, like Ruth, leading sessions at a place that she was once supported through.

To see young people develop is such a joy. It is so encouraging watching this young man hone his skills and taking on responsibilities as he did so well yesterday, leading a planning meeting with partners as they prepare for April mentorship sessions. Thank you PM for giving your best and as he says ‘Glory to God for the grace that is upon his life.’

It’s the time of year when another cohort of students from our partner projects will be considered for entering our Training and Mentorship programme. There is a lot of discussion that goes on both in groups and individually around the students’ passions for what they want to do. What grades are needed to access a course? Where is available to study? What commitment is required both on their part and ours? Many have come from challenging backgrounds and we want these young people to succeed. Pray with us as these decisions are made.

The KEGS/Mogonjet/New Hope/NTI experience is nearly over as they wing their way back to the UK. It has been great to see the interaction between Kenyan and UK students with experiences shared and impact witnessed. Meeting students from the past that have been supported through their education, training and mentorship and are now working, providing for their own families. The smiles, positivity will never be forgotten along with the beautiful sites of Kenya. Thanks to all of our project partners for their wonderful hospitality and for all they do for the children and young people every day.

Last weekend a group of past students from Mogonjet that have gone through our training and mentorship program came together with Peter and Rev Joseph Rono for some training as well as discussing how they can help the Mogonjet community. A great time of encouragement. Working towards lasting change.
