Poor Duke hadn’t been well since before he arrived, so with a heavy heart we are looking to find a home for Angel as it’s not fair to keep her in rescue indefinitely. She’s not keen on other cats (apart from Duke) so it’s a tough decision to force her to live amongst many and wait for Duke to hopefully be well enough to find a home, or find her a perfect home where she’s pampered and doted on.
She’s a beautifu, sensitive girl, very gentle and very loving once she knows you. She’s looking for a child and pet free calm home where she can enjoy being brushed and sleeping on a lap. She likes to go outside so would need a cat flap in a safe area or with a cat proofed garden. She’s a beautiful cat and deserves a perfect home.

Huge thanks to everyone responding to our wish list, I was overwhelmed with everyone’s kindness and generosity. The kittens are completely catered for and Baby with her chicken allergy is well supplied with chicken free food. And of course the cat litter is always needed! The cats particularly loved the empty boxes so that’s an added bonus.

I usually message people directly to thank them too but there were no message slips included saying who send what. If you wanted to check we received your gift please feel free to message.

We’re very low on food now as we’re still struggling with a backlog of cats and kittens waiting for homes. Please help us fill their tummies while in rescue if you can 🙏

Three of the grey gang kittens were neutered and chipped this week. At 4.5 months old, Alex, Meredith and Cristina are safe from all the pitfalls of not being neutered. Mum Callie came here heavily pregnant at the end of March, and they were born on a freezing cold night so it was good to have them safely inside. There were five kittens, and two have gone on to their forever home together. Callie had reportedly previously given birth in a garden. So now Callie and 5 kittens are neutered, that’s 6 cats that won’t be going on to add to the huge number of unwanted cats and kittens, we save so many lives with every neuter we do. Callie and her babies are still looking for homes, preferably in pairs.

Due to an absolute backlog of cats and kittens needing homes we’re looking for local foster homes for either a pair of kittens or an adult cat, until they find their forever home. Please message if you think you can offer a temporary home so these cats and kittens don’t have to grow up in rescue. Thank you.

Meet Monty, this poor boy had been living as a stray, unneutered and unloved, he was lucky to be noticed by a cat lover, Jade, who offered him food and water. He had a nasty wound on his neck from fighting, and a neighbour suggested trapping him and putting to sleep because of his aggression to other cats from being an entire male, so not his fault. He was too nervous to come near anyone so Jade put a trap in her garden which was successful and we collected him. He was chipped and neutered at our vet and had his wounds looked at. On worming the amount of dead worms that came from both ends was shocking! Poor boy must be feeling so much better. Now neutered he’s turned into such a lovely, gentle boy, and absolutely fine with all the cats here.

Huge thanks to Jade for catching him and donating towards his food, and to Jane from Animals in Need Fundraising and their supporters, Wendy, Jacky and Dawn who kindly donated for his neutering and treatment. It was real team work to save Monty.

Photos of him before and on trapping, his vet trip where we discovered he was actually very easy to handle, and out for a stroll now that he’s ready for homing, wearing a tracker in case he wanders off, which he doesn’t seem to want to do now the hormones have calmed down.

Now we just need the perfect home for this lovely boy so he can enjoy some TLC and home comforts after his life of neglect and hardship.

Cali and her son Alex are looking for a home together. She came in heavily pregnant back in March and gave birth to five gorgeous kittens. Her kittens are 12 weeks old now, they look older in photos, and two have found a lovely home already. Her two gorgeous female kittens also need a home together. Cali is super friendly, her kittens are a little more shy but lovely natures, and because of that they’d prefer calm homes. The comments don’t get monitored so please message or email [email protected] if you’re interested in finding out more.

Last week we were asked to help a female cat who had had numerous litters but whose owners couldn’t afford to spay her. “Jackie” was from a multi cat household where the other cats had been neutered by another charity but Jackie slipped through the net. Her most recent litter were now 10 weeks old. Normally we would insist on taking the kittens for proper rehoming, or take on the cat for rehoming, as we aren’t able to cover vet bills for owned cats, but the owners refused, and had already homed the kittens apart from the one they were keeping. We didn’t want to refuse to help Jackie as it wasn’t her fault she was in this situation. On spaying it turned out Jackie was actually already in early stages of pregnancy again which shows how quickly cats breed. Unfortunately this made the spay more expensive and we hadn’t budgeted for that unexpected extra cost. One of our supporters Tahira Fazal generously offered to cover Jackie’s costs, as she’d had a lovely idea to make a donation to help various causes in memory of her mum. Such a lovely way to honour a loved ones memory. So huge thanks to Tara and best of luck with your next project! I’m so glad that sweet little Jackie doesn’t have to suffer any more pregnancies and bring even more kittens into the world when cat rescues are in crisis already. She’s a really sweet cat and I’m so glad we were able to help her have a better life.
