This is exactly why we created Aspire Day Opportunities Service.

A place where young adults aged 18–30 with learning disabilities, autism and additional needs can build friendships, develop independence, try new things, volunteer, get involved in their community and most importantly... belong. 💙💛

📍 Oakfield Community Centre, Carrickfergus
🕘 Monday–Friday | 9am–3pm

Every day, I see people with a learning disability achieve things that others once thought weren’t possible, simply because they were given the opportunity.

Of course, managing risk is important. We all have a duty of care… But risk management should enable people to live their lives, not prevent them from living them.

Perhaps the question shouldn’t always be, “Why can’t they?” but instead, “How can we support them to do it safely?”

Choice. Independence. Opportunity. Dignity.

Because at the heart of everything we do are people, not processes.
