Really looking forward to our first engagement of the summer and itโ€™s always a highlight of our calendar being part of The Royal Landing Historical Pageant right in the heart of our community.

Something for everyone as we come together to celebrate our shared history and culture with historical displays, re-enactments, parades, music and dance!

A great opportunity to visit the town and positively support the people, businesses, arts and culture. Guaranteed to be a great fun day out for all the family. Hopefully see all our friends and supporters at some point.

P.S. Please note, Third Carrick will be playing from 2.30 until 3.30!

Exciting Opportunity!!!

Tenor Horn Vacancy

Due to one of our players going off to Music College at the end of the summer we have an exciting opportunity for any Tenor Horn players locally who would like to come join our busy, friendly, supportive and fun loving community brass band.

Not often an opportunity as exciting as this comes around and we are on the lookout for ambitious and hard-working Tenor Horn players with relevant experience willing to dedicate their time and be a part of one of the finest Championship Section Brass Bands in the country. Lots of fun creative projects to look forward to over the coming months with inhouse tuition and development provided from our experienced team. Position negotiable depending on the level of experience and ability and what is even more exciting we have space for two players to complete the section!

Feel free to reach out to our Secretary, Morris Cameron via email at [email protected] or phone on 07717346038 for more details on this chance to be part of the Third Carrick family.

Not quite the result we had hoped for yesterday but another thoroughly absorbing days contesting at The Strule Arts Centre, Omagh in the annual BBNI Spring Festival Contest. It was the first test piece contest with the new partnership of band and MD, Keith Anderson, and we managed to deliver a fine musical performance of St James A New Beginning that earned us a creditable 4th place in the Championship Section. Have to really pay credit to all our soloists who delivered on stage with playing of genuine quality. Feel free to check out the recording below.

Special mention to our guests players Billy Gilmore and Andy McQuiggan and a particularly big shout out to Andrew Milligan of 1st Old Boys who stood in at very short notice for our E flat bass player Niamh Burgess who was unable to attend the contest due to a family bereavement.

Thanks once again to the BBNI for hosting another successful event and congratulations to all the competing bands. Well done to Laganvale, CWA Brass and St. Marks for winning their respective sections.

Now for something completely different for a few months with a busy schedule of concerts to look forward to. ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ’™

Wishing our super talented 1st Horn player Sophie all the best for the weekend with the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain as their Easter Course culminates tomorrow night with a concert in Leyburn under the direction of Professor Nicolas Childs of the world renowned Black D**e Mills Band. Have fun Sophie and continue to enjoy the wonderful opportunities and friendships that come with playing in brass bands. ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ’™

What an absolutely brilliant night out at the Strule Arts Centre Omagh, for the inaugural National Youth Brass Band of Northern Ireland concert. Very proud of our representatives Christy, Erika, Martha, Sophie, Theo and not forgetting our Sop player Jacklin, who was the cornet tutor for the course.

Such an amazing standard of playing given these kids only had three rehearsal days to prepare and a wonderfully entertaining programme too from Course Director, Les Neish. The icing on the cake for us was of course Erika being awarded the Mark Bingham Memorial Trophy for the most improved player (Bingy would be so pleased his trophy is coming to Carrick) and Christy winning the Endeavour Trophy (not just for his Rep playing apparently but also his silver tongued oratory in front of a camera!).

Thanks so much to the BBNI Executive for having the foresight and drive to provide such an incredible opportunity for all these young budding musicians. The future certainly looks bright for banding in OWC! ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ’™

Not the result we had hoped for but another excellent days banding at The Valley Hotel, Fivemiletown in the annual BBNI Brass in Concert Entertainment Contest. Our new MD, Keith Anderson managed to prepare an engaging and entertaining programme of movie themed music in a very short timeframe and the band were happy with the performance. As usual all our soloists did us proud and there is much to look forward to with the new conductor/band combo!

Special mention to our glamorous compere Vicky Watson who exuded real class in her delivery of the script and as always we were very grateful to our guest Andy McQuiggan on percussion. Great start too for our new members Graham Murray and Harry Topping who both slotted in seamlessly with the Third Carrick family.

Thanks to the BBNI for hosting another successful event and congratulations to all the competing bands. Well done to 1st Old Boys, CWA Brass and Dynamic Brass for winning their respective sections.

Already looking forward to the forthcoming Spring Festival Contest in Omagh on Saturday 18th April. ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ’™
