An incredible **£743 raised at last night's CGS Parents' Association Quiz Night!** 🏆

What a fantastic result from an evening filled with laughter, a little friendly competition and a wonderful sense of community.

Every ticket purchased, every raffle entry and every contribution helped us reach this total, and we couldn't be more grateful! ❤️💙

As a Parents' Association, our aim is to support and enhance the educational experiences of pupils at Carrickfergus Grammar School, and it's evenings like these that help us do just that.

**£743 raised in one evening, all thanks to the generosity and support of our school community.**

A huge thank you to everyone who played a part, whether you attended, donated a raffle prize, helped organise the evening or simply cheered us on.

🏆 **WHAT A NIGHT!** 🏆

Well, Carrickfergus Grammar certainly knows how to put on a quiz night! 🎉

Last night we had a fantastic turnout, with a packed room and **15 teams battling it out** for the title of Quiz Night Champions!

There was plenty of laughter, a little healthy competition and, judging by some of the answers, a fair bit of creative thinking too! 😂

We even managed to turn the music round into a bit of a sing-along, with the whole room getting involved! 🎶🎤 Clearly, some of us were more confident in our singing abilities than our quiz answers! 🤣

🏆 A huge congratulations to our **winning team**, proudly pictured with their trophies!

🥄 And of course, a special mention to our **wooden spoon winners**, none other than our very own Principal, Mr Maxwell, and Mr Martin! 👀🤣

It seems we may have finally discovered their weakness... **quiz nights!** 😂

All jokes aside, thank you both for being such good sports and taking home the wooden spoons with pride!

A massive thank you to everyone who came along, bought raffle tickets, donated prizes and helped make the evening such a success.

Special thanks to **Carrickfergus Cricket Club** for hosting us and the brilliant **Bill the Thrill Buchanan from Deja Vu Promotions** for keeping us entertained throughout the evening! 🎤

Events like these are about so much more than fundraising. They're about bringing our school community together, having a laugh and supporting something we all care about.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC – BUSINESS SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

The hills are alive at Carrickfergus Grammar School as we prepare to bring the much-loved musical 'The Sound of Music' to the stage on 26th and 27th November 2026 at 7.30pm!

We are delighted to invite local businesses, organisations, former pupils and members of our wider school community to play a part in making this production a memorable experience for our talented young performers.

As we prepare for this exciting event, we are seeking the support of our local business community to help raise funds. The Funds raised through our production will be reinvested into our school, helping us enhance the resources, facilities and enrichment opportunities available to our pupils.

📣 Our first PA Newsletter of the new school year is here!

We’re off to a brilliant start for 2026/27, welcoming 11 new faces to our first meeting of the year and confirming our committee for the year ahead.

After putting £2,500 directly back into our school last year, we’re ready to get stuck in and see what we can achieve together this year.

🌈 **CAN OUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY LEND A HAND?** 🌈

We’re delighted to share a little call for help from one of our own!

Former Carrickfergus Grammar School pupil **William Buchanan, better known to many locally as “Bill the Thrill”**, is behind the brand new **Big Carrick Colour Run**, taking place on **Saturday 12th September**.

William is currently looking for some extra helping hands to volunteer at the colour stations and help make the day a fantastic family and community event.

And, let’s face it, there are probably worse ways to volunteer than being given full permission to throw colourful paint at people for the day! 😂🎨

The event is all in aid of **Action Mental Health**, while helping to bring something fun, positive and community-focused right here to Carrickfergus.

If any of our **parents, past pupils, staff or wider school community** can spare a little time to help, please get in touch with William through the Deja Vu page.

It would be lovely to see the CGS community getting behind one of our alumni and a brilliant new event for our town. ❤️💙
