💛The Happy Mums Foundation💛

We’re really excited to announce that Tiny Tales now has a Happy Mums fundraising collection box!

Happy Mums provides peer-led support for mums experiencing maternal mental health difficulties, creating safe spaces where mums can talk, share experiences and feel less alone.

It was started by a mum who had experienced postnatal depression herself, after she struggled to find the support she needed. She wanted to create somewhere mums could talk about their mental health without judgement or stigma. 💛

As a baby and toddler class, we see so many mums every week. We see the happy moments, the cuddles and the fun, but we also know that motherhood can sometimes feel overwhelming, lonely and incredibly difficult.

Mums need looking after too. 💛

So if you spot our Happy Mums collection box at Tiny Tales, please pop in whatever you can.

💛💛You can find more information about Happy Mums on their Facebook but if you ever need someone to lend a listening ear you always have me here at Tiny Tales. I can also put you in touch with the correct professionals at Happy Mums 💛💛

Our Workington Group is moving back to weekly! Every Friday from 10.30 - 11.30 at St Mary's Church.

As we have paused both the Cockermouth and Maryport groups, we are able to increase the frequency of the Workington Group.

So for the foreseeable future, we will have 3 weekly in person groups, 2 weekly online groups and 1 monthly online group with Diff-Ability.

All group information is available on our website, you can sign up for weekly email alerts of groups that are on each week or check here on a sunday for that weeks timetable.

We are pleased to announce that from next week September the 4th, our Workington face to face group will return to weekly. This group is run at St Mary's Church in Workington from 10.30-11.30am. If you would like more information about this group please email us on [email protected]

Due to the bank holiday on Monday we have decided to cancel our online groups this week to allow our staff and volunteers to have a much needed bank holiday off. Back to normal the following week.

1 in 4 mums experience mental health problems like depression, anxiety, OCD, and PTSD. But the reality is that all mums experience loneliness, intrusive thoughts, and changes to their identity to varying degrees.

Right now, NHS perinatal mental health teams only have the budget to support the worst 10% of cases, leaving far too many families navigating these challenges in silence.

Since 2015, The Happy Mums Foundation has supported over 1,000 families. Among our mums, 75% receive no other mental health support, 92% report improved wellbeing, and 88% feel an increased social connection.

We are working hard to ensure every mum gets the safe, open support she deserves—but we cannot do it alone.

Please take a second to hit share. By sharing this post, you might just put our lifeline link in front of a mum who desperately needs it today.
