Future of Taru

Future of Taru Taru is a small town situated on the main Nairobi-Mombasa highway in Kenya, and is around 80km from the coastal resort of Mombasa. Best wishes, Paul Moffat.

Future of Taru is a UK Registered Charity (1184640) supporting children in the small town of Taru, Kenya, so that they can access affordable or sponsored education, and have a healthy Kenyan staple meal each school day I had been supporting orphanages, rescue centres, and individual kids in Kenya for a number of years, however after visiting Taru for the third time I decided that I wanted to devel

op my own support centre for some of the most needy children - and I would do it in Taru. Despite being on the main highway, Taru is an under-developed town, with no supermarket, no hotel, a poor mobile phone network, a tiny health centre, no cash machine, and constant power cuts. Our support began by sponsoring one child, which soon became 23 children, all being sponsored by family and friends, albeit these children were in a private school. Since January 2015, my wife Eunice and I have bought two plots of land in Taru and have completed the building of an Infant and Junior School, and through fantastic support from others land has been purchased and a High School built. We now have over 330 children in school, with almost 200 of the children sponsored, however there are always more children requiring sponsorship. This is where I require your support........your help will be much appreciated. Please do not hesitate to contact if you are able to help in any way, either on Facebook or by email [email protected] or via our website www.futureoftaru.org. Asante sana for taking time to consider supporting our project - Future of Taru.

Happy Father's Day to all those fathers who support us and work with us at Future of Taru, we truly appreciate all that you do.

It would make the day even better if we could find sponsors for each of these four young pupils, each of them requiring sponsorship support.

£12.50 per month is all it costs to support one child ... they are then assured to be in education, plus fed each day at school.

If anyone is able to help, please give me a shout 🙏🏽

Good morning all,

Next weekend, 5 supporters of the Future of Taru are looking to raise £3,000 for the charity, which will go towards completing the construction of a building at the Secondary School.

This is their sixth Coast2Coast fundraiser, with the first in 2021.

In those previous 5 rides they have cycled 1,060 miles, raising over £16,500 in the process! If they can complete this ride and hit their target, that will take them to over 1,240 miles cycled and over £19,000 raised!

We should add that they are not professional cyclists! But they are going to complete the route and hope to raise some significant funds towards finishing the development.

So if you are able to donate a few pounds towards our charity, hopefully you can help to continue to support the children who are the Future of Taru.

100% of monies donated will go directly into the charity. Any money the lads are spending on the cycling route is coming out of their own personal savings, including all of their transport costs, accommodation, food and drink, spare inner tubes and blister plasters!

JUST A REMINDER.....

This June, five supporters of the Future of Taru are looking to raise £3,000 for the charity, which will go towards completing construction of a new block at the High School.

We should add that they are not professional cyclists! But they are going to complete the route and hope to raise some significant funds towards this incredible cause.

So if you are able to donate a few pounds towards a fantastic charity, hopefully we can help transform the futures of the children who are the Future of Taru.

100% of monies donated will go directly into the charity. Any money the lads are spending on the cycling route is coming out of their own personal savings, including all of theirr transport costs, accommodation, food and drink, spare inner tubes and blister plasters!
