Friends of Rickerby Park Carlisle Friends of Rickerby Park are an enthusiastic group of park users that help Carlisle City Council man There are footpaths, and a car park, with a riverside walk.

Opened in 1932 as a memorial to the fallen of the Great War of 1914 - 1918, this 'natural' park extends upstream along the sinuous River Eden from Eden Bridge. Rickerby Park is a natural park in the old landscape tradition. The parkland is dotted with mature trees, beneath which cattle and sheep graze the sweet pasture grasses. A riverbank path follows the sweeping bends of the Eden, and by crossi

ng the Memorial Bridge you can complete a circular walk back to the city centre on the opposite bank. The Hadrian's Wall National Trail runs through Rickerby Park via the suspension bridge.
