Never Forgotten ❤️

20/10/2026

Today, we remember those precious lives and honour the incredible strength of Aberfan — a village that will never be forgotten. 🕯️💔🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

On the morning of Friday 21st October 1966, 60 years ago tragedy struck the quiet mining village of Aberfan, near Merthyr Tydfil.
After days of heavy rain, a colliery spoil tip collapsed — sending a torrent of slurry down the hillside.
It engulfed Pantglas Junior School and nearby homes, claiming 144 lives, including 116 children.

The disaster shocked Wales and the world, leaving a deep and lasting scar on the community.

🕯️ May we never forget 🙏🏻
