We intend to create a community that is vibrant and bustling; where everyone feels included and able to participate; where people take responsibility and respect each other and their environment; where residents groups are encouraged to form; and where people have pride in, and ownership of, where they live. We intend to create strong and resilient neighbourhoods where community spirit soars. The mission of F.A.N Community Alliance is to improve the conditions of life for the inhabitants of Ethel Street and the surrounding area. We do this by:
โข Holding community events and activities that give people the chance to come together, get to know each other, learn, have fun and remove barriers such as age, gender and background
โข Providing opportunities for people to participate and volunteer in their local community
โข Helping to facilitate the formation of residents groups
โข Promoting environmental awareness, responsibility and sustainability
Values:
โข Community is at the heart of everything we do
โข There is no generation gap
โข We endeavour to do things for ourselves, but are not afraid to ask for help if we need it
โข Everyone can be included
โข Collaboration and partnerships open opportunities
โข Anti-social behaviour is reduced further through fun, than with warnings and sanctions
โข We do not run projects that we do not believe can be sustained
โข We promote re-use and recycling
