Through initiatives such as our community library service and a "Share Your Talent/Skills" approach, we actively engage with the broader community, encouraging everyone to contribute and participate. Inclusive Activities: We offer a variety of experiences that are open to all. From after-school clubs and tabletop gaming sessions to movie nights and school holiday playgroups, our activities are designed for everyone to enjoy, building a sense of belonging and mutual respect within the community. Empowering Volunteering Opportunities: We empower young people through meaningful volunteer roles, such as helping to run the community library, managing the sensory garden, or assisting in the kitchen during events. These opportunities help develop valuable life skills and promote a more integrated society. As an AQA centre, we also recognise and celebrate their skill development through the UAS certificates. Creative and Social Engagement: Our community library and cutting-edge digital hub, featuring 3D printing, give young people the chance to explore creativity and technology. We also offer popular social activities, such as stay-and-play sessions and gaming clubs, that nurture friendships and personal connections. Sensory Growing Garden: Our sensory growing garden provides a peaceful, engaging environment for children and young people to connect with nature, fostering both personal growth and well-being. 🏛️ THE ROMANS ARE COMING! 🛡️⚔️

We’re kicking off our brand new Romans History Block this Friday with a fantastic hands-on Roman Wales workshop!

This isn’t a sit-down-and-listen history lesson! Our launch workshop will give young people the chance to get up close with Roman history, including:
🛡️ Learning Roman Army shield tactics
✍️ Trying Roman-style writing with bamboo pens and ink
⚔️ Handling historical items and seeing them up close
🪖 Trying on Roman armour and helmets
🏛️ Discovering what everyday life was really like in Roman Britain
It’s the perfect way to launch our new history block before we spend the following weeks exploring the Romans through more hands-on activities, experiments, archaeology, crafts and challenges.
You can come along just for our special launch workshop for £4, or join us for the whole 7-session block for £25.
Suitable for home-educated young people aged 7–17 - and you definitely don’t need to already know anything about the Romans!

We’re getting ready to start our new Essential Skills programme this September – and we have spaces available for both home-educated and schooled young people. 🎉

We’ll have sessions running during the daytime AND after school hours, so young people can attend in a way that works around their education.

Learners can work towards recognised Agored Cymru Essential Skills qualifications in:

💻 Digital Literacy

Young people will work from their own starting point and progress at a pace that works for them, with a supportive approach designed with neurodivergent learners in mind.

🏛️⚔️ NEW 7-SESSION BLOCK: THE ROMANS! ⚔️🏛️

Travel back almost 2,000 years and discover what life was really like in the Roman world!

Our next Pathfinders themed learning block is The Romans, with 7 hands-on sessions exploring everything from the Roman army and engineering to everyday life, archaeology and the arrival of the Romans in Britain.

This won't be seven sessions of worksheets! 😆 Each session will combine history with practical activities, challenges, experiments and things to make and investigate.

Across the block, we’ll explore topics such as:
⚔️ Roman soldiers, armour and military tactics
🏛️ Roman buildings, roads and incredible engineering
🏺 Archaeology and what objects can tell us about the past
🪙 Roman coins, writing and everyday life
🍞 Food, homes and life in the Roman Empire
🌿 Roman Britain and what happened when Rome came to Wales
🔥 Rebellion, resistance and the people who didn't particularly fancy becoming Roman!

There'll be opportunities to build, create, investigate, experiment and problem-solve as we explore the Roman world together.
The block is designed for a broad age range, with activities that can be approached at different levels. Younger children can get stuck into the practical side, while older young people can explore the history, evidence and ideas in greater depth.

🏆 AQA Unit Award Scheme
Young people who are registered as Pathfinders members will also have the opportunity to earn AQA Unit Award certificates for the learning and skills they demonstrate during the block.
This means they can gain recognition for their achievements while taking part in the same practical, relaxed activities – no exams required!

No previous knowledge is needed – just come ready to investigate!

Our Arts Award groups return on Tuesday 1st September, giving children and young people the chance to get creative, explore their own interests and work towards a nationally recognised Arts Award!

Arts Award isn't just about drawing and painting! Young people can explore all kinds of creativity – from crafts, photography and creative writing to drama, music, textiles, fashion, costume, digital art, animation, filmmaking and more.

We encourage everyone to follow their own interests, develop new skills and build their Arts Award portfolio in a way that works for them. As always, our sessions are designed to be welcoming and flexible for neurodivergent and anxious young people. 💛

💷 £5 per session – all materials included!
No need to be an experienced artist – curiosity and a willingness to have a go are all that's needed. 😊
