Pathfinders Cymru

Pathfinders Cymru Encouraging inclusivity and community for all We recognise that to build a truly inclusive community, we must break down the barriers that keep people divided.

Welcome to Pathfinders Cymru, a dedicated charity committed to helping all children and young people grow, develop, and learn together to create a happy community based on inclusion, diversity, and belonging. That’s why we focus on creating activities and spaces where everyone, regardless of ability, can connect, grow, and thrive together. Based at Ystalyfera Community Centre, our hub offers a div

erse range of engaging activities and services designed to foster personal growth, social connection, and skill development. We provide a place where not only can every child and young person feel valued and involved, but also reach out and welcome the wider community. Through initiatives such as our community library service and a "Share Your Talent/Skills" approach, we actively engage with the broader community, encouraging everyone to contribute and participate. What We Offer

Inclusive Activities: We offer a variety of experiences that are open to all. From after-school clubs and tabletop gaming sessions to movie nights and school holiday playgroups, our activities are designed for everyone to enjoy, building a sense of belonging and mutual respect within the community. Empowering Volunteering Opportunities: We empower young people through meaningful volunteer roles, such as helping to run the community library, managing the sensory garden, or assisting in the kitchen during events. These opportunities help develop valuable life skills and promote a more integrated society. As an AQA centre, we also recognise and celebrate their skill development through the UAS certificates. Creative and Social Engagement: Our community library and cutting-edge digital hub, featuring 3D printing, give young people the chance to explore creativity and technology. We also offer popular social activities, such as stay-and-play sessions and gaming clubs, that nurture friendships and personal connections. Sensory Growing Garden: Our sensory growing garden provides a peaceful, engaging environment for children and young people to connect with nature, fostering both personal growth and well-being. At Pathfinders Cymru, we are dedicated to building a brighter, more inclusive future where every child and young person is given equal space to belong and participate fully in their community. Join us on this journey of empowerment, connection, and transformation.

Today's theme is "Belonging"

Everyone deserves somewhere they feel they belong.

A place where they can be themselves.

A place where they don't have to hide their differences.

A place where they are welcomed, respected and valued.

That's what we're working to create at Pathfinders Cymru.

Because inclusion isn't about making people fit in.

It's about making sure everyone belongs.

Perthyn

Mae pawb yn haeddu rhywle lle maen nhw'n teimlo eu bod yn perthyn.

Lle gallan nhw fod yn nhw eu hunain.

Lle does dim angen cuddio'r pethau sy'n eu gwneud yn wahanol.

Lle maen nhw'n cael croeso, parch a gwerthfawrogiad.

Dyna'r math o gymuned rydyn ni'n ceisio ei chreu yn Pathfinders Cymru.

Oherwydd nid yw cynhwysiant yn ymwneud â gwneud i bobl ffitio mewn.

Mae'n ymwneud â sicrhau bod pawb yn perthyn.

⭐ Building confidence

Every achievement matters.

What achievement are you proud of this week?

Dathlu Llwyddiannau

Yr wythnos hon rydyn ni'n dathlu llwyddiannau pobl ag anableddau dysgu.

Does dim rhaid i lwyddiannau fod yn enfawr.

Gallan nhw fod yn:

Rhoi cynnig ar rywbeth newydd
Gwneud ffrind newydd
Mynychu grŵp am y tro cyntaf
Dysgu sgìl newydd
Cael dy lais dy hun
Cwblhau Gwobr Uned AQA
Magu hyder

Mae pob llwyddiant yn bwysig.

Pa lwyddiant rwyt ti'n fwyaf balch ohono yr wythnos hon?

Communication Looks Different

Not everyone communicates in the same way.

Some people use speech.

Some use Makaton.

Some communicate through devices, pictures, writing or behaviour.

Communication isn't just about talking.

It's about listening.

This Learning Disability Week we're encouraging everyone to take the time to listen to different voices and different ways of communicating.

Everyone has something important to say.

💙

Mae Cyfathrebu'n Edrych yn Wahanol

Nid yw pawb yn cyfathrebu yn yr un ffordd.

Mae rhai pobl yn defnyddio lleferydd.

Mae rhai yn defnyddio Makaton.

Mae rhai yn cyfathrebu drwy ddyfeisiau, lluniau, ysgrifennu neu eu hymddygiad.

Nid siarad yn unig yw cyfathrebu.

Mae hefyd yn ymwneud â gwrando.

Yn ystod Wythnos Anabledd Dysgu eleni, rydyn ni'n annog pawb i gymryd amser i wrando ar leisiau gwahanol a ffyrdd gwahanol o gyfathrebu.

Mae gan bawb rywbeth pwysig i'w ddweud.

Challenging Barriers

Learning Disability Week isn't only about celebration.

It's also about recognising the barriers that still exist.

Many people with learning disabilities want to work, take part in their communities, make friends, learn new skills and be independent, but barriers can get in the way.

Sometimes those barriers are physical.

Sometimes they are communication barriers.

Sometimes they are assumptions about what people can or cannot do.

One of the most powerful things we can do is ask:

"What support would help you succeed?"

💙

Herio Rhwystrau

Nid dathlu yn unig yw pwrpas Wythnos Anabledd Dysgu.

Mae hefyd yn gyfle i deall y rhwystrau sy'n dal i creu problemau.

Mae llawer o bobl ag anableddau dysgu eisiau gweithio, cymryd rhan yn eu cymunedau, gwneud ffrindiau, dysgu sgiliau newydd a byw'n annibynnol – ond gall rhwystrau sefyll yn y ffordd.

Weithiau mae'r rhwystrau hynny'n gorfforol.

Weithiau maen nhw'n rhwystrau cyfathrebu.

Ac weithiau maen nhw'n camddealltwriaethau am yr hyn y gall neu na all rhywun ei wneud.

Un o'r pethau pwysicaf y gallwn ni ei wneud yw gofyn:

"Pa gymorth fyddai'n dy helpu i lwyddo?"

People Are More Than Labels

When you meet someone with a learning disability, what do you see first?

A diagnosis?

Or a future artist, scientist, gardener, gamer, entrepreneur, volunteer, friend or leader?

At Pathfinders we see young people creating films, building robots, running businesses, earning qualifications, supporting their peers and discovering new talents.

A learning disability is one part of a person.

It is never the whole story.

💙

Mae Pobl yn Fwy na Labeli

Pan fyddi di'n cwrdd â rhywun sydd ag anabledd dysgu, beth wyt ti'n ei weld gyntaf?

Diagnosis?

Neu artist, gwyddonydd, garddwr, gamer, entrepreneur, gwirfoddolwr, ffrind neu arweinydd y dyfodol?

Yn Pathfinders rydyn ni'n gweld pobl ifanc yn gwneud ffilmiau, adeiladu robotiaid, rhedeg busnesau, ennill cymwysterau, cefnogi ei gilydd a darganfod doniau newydd.

Dim ond un rhan o berson yw anabledd dysgu.

Nid dyna'r stori gyfan byth.

Learning Disability Week 2026

This year's theme is "Do You See Me?"

It's about making sure people with learning disabilities are seen, heard, included and valued for who they are.

At Pathfinders Cymru, we believe every young person deserves to be recognised for their strengths, interests, ideas and achievements, not just their support needs.

This week we'll be sharing stories, facts and reflections about learning disability, inclusion and belonging.

Because everyone deserves to be seen.

💙

Wythnos Anabledd Dysgu 2026

Thema eleni yw "Wyt Ti'n Fy Ngweld i?"

Mae'n wneud â siwr bod pobl ag anableddau dysgu yn cael eu gweld, eu clywed, eu cynnwys a'u gwerthfawrogi am bwy ydyn nhw.

Yn Pathfinders Cymru, rydyn ni'n credu bod pob person ifanc yn haeddu cael ei adnabod am ei gryfderau, ei ddiddordebau, ei syniadau a'i lwyddiannau – nid dim ond am y cymorth sydd ei angen arno.

Drwy gydol yr wythnos hon byddwn yn rhannu straeon, ffeithiau a meddyliau am anabledd dysgu, cynhwysiant a pherthyn.

Oherwydd mae pawb yn haeddu cael eu gweld.
