Every year, the Wales and West Acute Transport for Children Service (WATCh) save hundreds of lives - including Aoife’s. 💙

Aoife was just five days old and suffering from uncontrollable seizures when WATCh stepped in to save the day. Despite her fragile condition, they safely blue lighted her from Bath to Bristol Royal Hospital for Children for specialist treatment. 🚑

Four years later, Aoife is thriving and hitting all her milestones, but her family will never stop thanking and spreading the word about the phenomenal WATCh team.

Today, we’re celebrating all the loving dads at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. 🌟

It’s never easy to have a sick child in hospital, so we wanted to show everyone spending Father’s Day by their little one’s bedside just how appreciated they are.

Thanks to our kind supporters, we’ve funded cards and gifts for patients to give their dads today. These little treats help make sure that families still get to celebrate this special day, even if they’re going through difficult times. 💙

Meet Melissa, the family friend fundraising for Emma, a devoted friend taking on a skydive to help change young lives. 💙

Emma first became unwell in 2022 while on a family skiing holiday, when she was suddenly diagnosed with kidney failure. Since then, Emma has faced a long and difficult journey. Through it all, her strength has inspired everyone around her.

One of the most powerful moments for Melissa was witnessing Sally, Emma’s mum make the brave decision to donate her kidney. This act inspired her to register as an organ donor too.

Throughout Emma’s treatment, The Grand Appeal has provided vital support, from specialist services to family accommodation close to Bristol Children’s Hospital.

Now, Melissa is giving back. On Saturday 22 August, she’ll take on a charity skydive to raise awareness and support other families facing the unimaginable.

Meet Debbie, fundraiser, volunteer, and all-round superstar supporting The Grand Appeal. 💙

What started as a £500 goal for the Copenhagen Marathon turned into an incredible £3,000 raised to help sick children and their families. Together with match funding from her employer, her total now stands at a whopping £6,000!

Debbie’s journey started in 2015 after seeing the care her nephew’s received at Bristol Children’s Hospital. Since then, she’s taken on countless running challenges, earned her first marathon medal, and generously given her time volunteering at our events.
