🌍 What an incredible contribution our CoMO members made to World Meningitis Day.

Across the world, members found inspiring ways to take part. From educating communities and bringing people together to advocate for change, to raising awareness through creative social content, videos and graphics.

Moving light the road ahead tributes also honoured those whose lives have been changed by meningitis, with illuminations ranging from iconic landmarks to personal candlelit moments of remembrance.

To mark World Meningitis Day Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance helped amplify the voices of people affected by meningitis, highlighting the impact of this devastating disease. 🗣️

Among those featured was our CoMO member, Isabell Wachera, who spoke about her personal experience of meningitis. Her story highlights the lasting impact meningitis can have and why continued awareness, prevention and support are so important.

As founders of World Meningitis Day, we are proud to see partners, including UNICEF, using their voice to help drive awareness and action.

In the lead-up to the day, Ephrem Lemango, UNICEF’s Associate Director – Immunization, Global Health Practice, shared his thoughts with us about where we are in the journey to defeat meningitis and what more needs to be done to achieve our shared goal by 2030.
