Can you spot Ducky hiding admit the bright colours of DORIS, the mobile youth bus?

Youth work is about engaging with young people in spaces and places that they feel comfortable.

Thanks to DORIS and The Urbie, our youth workers quite literally use a youth club on wheels to go out to young people in their communities, all thanks to working collaboratively.

It’s National Youth Work week, and this years’ theme is ‘Building Bright Futures - Safe Places, Trusted Support and Opportunities to Thrive.’

Designed by young people meet ‘Duck’, the newest member of our flock!

Complete with a lanyard, this week Duck will be out and about visiting a whole bunch of our youth sessions to capture how young people feel about youth sessions, staff and youth work in general.

Duck took flight from our office this morning 🦆💻🚀 watch them this week as they tour Bristol and South Glos.

We are over the moon to share that LPW School has been graded Outstanding by Ofsted at our recent inspection in May.

First and foremost, the result is a testament to the young people who have shown so brilliantly that they can go far no matter where they start from. It is an incredible testament to the relentless determination and hard work across every part of the organisation that has committed to the creation of an emotionally available school, and to support every young person at LPW School to achieve and grow.

Every single part of our work at LPW is done in partnership with others, and we owe an enormous thank you to all the providers who are part of our offer to young people. Families and communities are also part of making it possible for young people to succeed. Thank you!

We also owe an enormous thank you to past colleagues and board members who have contributed enormously to LPW’s journey, and were part of building our approach to truly inclusive education. We wouldn’t have got this far without you.

After some well-deserved celebrations, we’ll be thinking about how we use this result to champion both young people and the alternative learning sector. Young people face systemic discrimination and social injustice in so many ways; let’s use inclusive and compassionate education to challenge this. Let’s carry on the work together!

It's Children's Mental Health Week 2025! 💜😊

LPW is committed to creating safe spaces for children and young people to be honest about their feelings and express themselves.

We provide them with the tools to understand themselves and how they can manage their emotions.

The theme of this year's Children's Mental Health Week is 'Know Yourself Grow Yourself'. To find how we can all contribute to this, check out this page.
