🎏 Celebrating Children's Day in Japan! 🎏

Did you know that on May 5th, Japan celebrates Children’s Day (Kodomo no Hi)? 🇯🇵✨ It’s a day dedicated to honouring the happiness, health, and growth of children.

One of the most iconic traditions is the display of koinobori, colorful carp-shaped windsocks. These carp symbolize strength and determination, inspired by a legend of a carp swimming upstream to become a dragon! 🐟💨

Families also decorate their homes with samurai dolls and helmets, wishing for their children to grow brave and resilient. Traditional treats like kashiwa-mochi (sweet rice cakes wrapped in oak leaves) are enjoyed to celebrate the occasion. 🌿🍡

We were delighted to see so many people getting involved - from origami and kintsugi, to calligraphy and playing the koto - we even had some of you on-stage learning some breakdancing moves! 👏🏼👏🏼
