The Village Hall in Edington is here for the community! There is a 12th century church, but the nearest primary school is in the village of Catcott.

Edington is a rural village, situated on the north side of the Polden Hills in the Sedgemoor district of Somerset, England. Either side of it lie the villages of Chilton Polden and Catcott, and north of it is the small village of Burtle. Edington has a surgery and an active village hall for the communities to use. At the north end of the village is a Holy Well which no longer functions.

On Sunday I have the pleasure of being 'Master of Ceremonies' at The Great Polden Hills Mangelwurzel Day!

Whats a Mangelwurzel I hear you cry? Good question...its a root vegetable thats sort of a cross between a turnip and a beetroot - but it grows in all sorts of amusing shapes. Thats why they are having a growing competition to find the biggest, weirdest and most wonderful ones.

Theres even a category for the best Mangelwurzel that looks like Donald Trump 🫣

Theres loads more happening besides. Stick it in the diary for the weekend:
