What a week Wedmore YFC has had helping out in the YFC Tent at the Bath & West Show!

Throughout the week, members volunteered their time making teas and coffees, serving cake, running the lucky dip, handing out stickers, and chatting to members of the public about everything Young Farmers has to offer.

A number of members and advisory members also attended the reception on Thursday evening, representing the club and catching up with friends from across the county.

On Tuesday night, Blackdown Vets visited us to tell us all about the practice, what they do day-to-day and to share some of their most interesting cases 🩺🐄🐑

They also held a competition for everyone to get involved in, which was won by Gwen 🏆👏

A huge thank you to them for coming along and giving us such an interesting and enjoyable evening!

Wow, what a day for Wedmore YFC at the Sedgemoor Rally last weekend! 🏆

Great results across all aspects of the day absolutely sweeping the ground in the livestock section. Huge achievements in the stockjudging, handicrafts and day competitions — notably fitting 27 people in a trailer and bringing home the “How Many in a…” win once again. Plus a brilliant 3rd place for our junior tug of war team. Loads of fun was had in the main events. To top it all off, we brought home the Large Club Cup for the first time in 19 years!

A massive well done to every single member who took part — we wouldn’t have achieved these results without you all. And thank you to our advisory team for all the training, support and for keeping us in line along the way!

Finally, thank you to Sedgemoor for organising such a great rally.

And that’s a wrap on our 92nd Annual Show!

We couldn’t do any of this without our incredible advisory committee, and we’re so grateful for the time and effort they put in year after year - this one was no exception. Transforming The George car park into a full livestock show in such a short space of time is no small job, and it truly shows what YFC is all about.
