Thank you to everyone who joined us at Lavers Close yesterday to celebrate ☀️
It was a wonderful sunny day and great to see so many tenants coming together, along with colleagues from Somerset Council and our construction partners. Cold drinks from Really Awesome Coffee - Bridgwater were much needed too! 🧋

⚠️Reduced repairs service⚠️
Due to the red weather warning, on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th June, we will be reducing our repairs service to cover emergencies only.

Anyone with a repair booked on these dates will have been notified about any changes. Our team will still be available to report a repair by calling us on 01278 444344 or using the form on our website https://www.shal.org/tenants/report-a-repair/, and you can contact us if you have any queries about a repair.

Additional support for anyone sleeping rough in the heat has now been launched by Somerset Council - please share!

🚨 With an Amber Heat Health Alert already in place and a Red alert expected across the South West, Severe Weather Emergency Provision (SWEP) has been activated in Somerset to support people sleeping rough during periods of extreme heat.

This will be active from Monday (22 June) and will be in place until Thursday (25 June) when it will be reviewed.

Our teams will be increasing welfare checks across the district and offering:
🔵 Drinking water to stay hydrated
🔵 Sunscreen and sun hats to reduce exposure
🔵 Signposting and support to access cool, safe spaces during the hottest parts of the day
🔵 Trained staff who can recognise and respond to signs of heat-related illness

If you’re concerned about someone sleeping rough, please let us know so we can help ensure everyone stays safe in the heat.
