People have been asking me where the exhortation we use came from, so here is the whole poem.

For the Fallen - By Laurence Binyon

With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,

England mourns for her dead across the sea.

Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,

Fallen in the cause of the free.

Solemn the drums thrill; Death august and royal

Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres,

There is music in the midst of desolation

And a glory that shines upon our tears.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,

Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.

They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted;

They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning

We will remember them.

They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;

They sit no more at familiar tables of home;

They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;

They sleep beyond England's foam.

But where our desires are and our hopes profound,

Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight,

To the innermost heart of their own land they are known

As the stars are known to the Night;

As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust,

Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain;

As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness,

To the end, to the end, they remain.

WITH THANKS TO SCOUSE HALL FROM LIVERPOOL

I posted this 9 years ago as every year without fail there is fake news about poppies being banned etc
Now there is a outrage at wetherspoons again
But this time in Gosport
Now a quick bit of research shows that prior to the post being made there was an anti migrant demonstration in Gosport
I've not done too much research but me thinks the 2 are linked and is just another post designed to cause outrage
Don't take anything at face value
The Poppy IS NOT banned anywhere

Ok people
Please inwardly digest and take note
Poppies are not banned by any large retailers due to Multi culturism of clientele etc
This years target is Wetherspoons previous years have been a motorway service stn chain and major supermarket chains
These posts are created by sad little idiots sat in dark rooms to create animosity and hatred during a time were everyone should stand together to rememeber all who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom in years gone by and those still falling today
I have just got off the phone to Wetherspoons media spokesperson who seems like he is having a bad day because of this
He is sending me an email to disprove this pathetic message that is doing the rounds
Please people do not send these sort of hate filled viral messages a 2 minute search and phone call is all it took to sort it

If you feel the need to share things then share or copy and paste this message and put an end to this s**t that certain parties raiseevery year around this time

Thank you all for reading

We will remember them.
