Dementia touches so many lives and at Tower House in Brighton, people living with dementia and their partners are welcomed with warmth, friendship and understanding.

Earlier this week our CEO visited the Centre and I saw first-hand the wonderful work the team does to create a safe, welcoming space where people can simply be themselves, feel connected and enjoy time together.

A truly special place at the heart of the community 💙

Today, on World Humanitarian Day, we stand alongside humanitarian workers and organisations around the world who support people through crisis, conflict, poverty and displacement.

Every day we see how compassion, practical support and human connection can make a difference to people facing difficult circumstances.

From providing food and essential items to offering a listening ear, advice and a sense of community, our members and Centres are there for people when they need support most.

We believe in welcoming the stranger and defending the right to seek asylum with humanity and justice.

Our CEO, Kate Nightingale, spent time visiting two of our frontline services and seeing hope in action.

Kate began the day at our Crossgates St Vincents Community shop, where she met Shop Manager Julie and the fantastic team. Their warmth, dedication and commitment are what make our shops such welcoming places in the heart of the community.

She also visited our St Vincent's Centre, Leeds, where there was plenty to celebrate. Community Cafe Manager, Michelle, proudly showed off the transformed kitchen, which she painted herself – a real labour of love that has brightened the space for everyone who uses it.

Kate also had the chance to see the busy summer programme in full swing, including the creative project to paint one of the Centre's outdoor containers, helping to make the space even more vibrant and welcoming.

A huge thank you to everyone at Crossgates and Leeds CSP for the warm welcome and for the incredible work you do every day to support people in your community.
