⚠️ A ShelterBox team has arrived in Nepal and is assessing the situation after catastrophic flash floods devastated communities.

A powerful surge of water, mud, ice and debris washed away homes, roads and bridges, leaving communities cut off and families without safe shelter.

More than 1,000 people have died, over 4,200 are missing, and an estimated 65,000 people have been affected.

Our team is meeting with Rotary International members and other humanitarian organisations to understand what might be needed and how we can best support affected communities.

We are also speaking to potential partners to understand how we could work together to address immediate needs and are considering essential aid items like blankets, sleeping mats, tarpaulin and ropes.

As assessments continue, we'll keep you updated on how ShelterBox can help families recover and rebuild.

💙 We did it. £20,000 raised for Tea for Tools! ☕🛠️

A huge thank you to everyone who helped us reach our £20,000 Tea for Tools target this summer.

Back in July, we set the challenge of raising £10,000 to match a generous £10,000 pledge from a trust. And thanks to all of you, we made it.

From hosting cake sales and coffee mornings, to making donations, sharing our posts, coming along to our Tea for Tools sale and simply telling someone else about the campaign, every bit of support helped get us there.

The money raised will support our Transition to Work programme, helping young people who have completed vocational training take that next step into work and independent living. It means business training, mentoring and practical support to help turn their skills into a sustainable income.

Thank you. You helped make £20,000 happen. 💙

And that's something worth putting the kettle on for. ☕

A big thank you to President Amanda for hosting a Turkish-style evening at the Meyrick Park Café. Twenty members and guests filled the room, creating a really friendly, lively atmosphere, while café owner Sultan Ekinci kindly added a generous donation towards the total of £200 raised for Rotary’s international projects - a brilliant result. After the meal, Amanda kept everyone entertained with a mind‑stretching game that produced plenty of laughter and friendly competition. A thoroughly enjoyable evening all round.
