The Peru Mission received a group of 24 sixth form students and 3 teachers from Carmel College, Darlington in July 2026. They assisted with the building of Nuestra Señora de La Purissima Nursery School for 120 children of 3-5yrs of age in situations of extreme poverty in the Peruvian Amazon, heard talks on development work, conservation of the rainforest and of the natural world and experienced the Amazon. www.theperumission.org.uk/support

The Peru Mission hosts volunteer groups who spend time teaching English, sharing dance, handcraft and sports workshops with young Peruvians who are in care due to backgrounds of extreme poverty. www.theperumission.org.uk/support

A cold snap this week in the Peruvian Amazon. 20-23 degrees C for the past 3 days compares to the usual 32-36 degrees C. At 6am we were purchasing materials. The builders are cold but still mixing cement and pouring foundations and columns. To donate: www.theperumission.org.uk/support
