Good news! The two dogs reported missing from Piddington since Wednesday are safe and have returned home.

Their owner is thanking everyone for their concern and for helping to search and raise awareness of them in the wider area.

They returned home at lunchtime Saturday - no more details have been given.

Have you heard of Mexican Train Dominoes?

It’s played like normal dominoes and is easy to learn and surprisingly addictive.

Check out YouTube on how to play. Just be aware that there are loads of variations on the rules, but the major difference between this and normal dominoes is the fact that the maximum number of dots is 12 rather than 6. There will be people on hand to get you started when we play soon at the Langford Village Community Hall.

We are planning our first evening Community Event at the Hall on Saturday 13th June. We will set up from 6.30 aiming to start play at 7pm and run until 9.45pm. Tables can be booked NOW at a cost of £10 for a table of 4.or £2.50 per person.

Bring along your set of dominoes or when booking advise that you need to book one of our sets. Please book your table at [email protected]. There are 10 tables available.

Each table will be given a score card to complete and there will be a small prize for the winner on each table.

Please bring your own food and drink - or order in. Tea and coffee will be provided.

Join us for a fun, relaxing evening as we start these new events to help bring our Langford Village community further together.

Post by Ashling Gordon - can you help please? ⤵️

Hello lovely Langford community!

As you’ve probably all seen from the leaflets, heard from the children 47 times, and hopefully seen all of my posts, the school summer fete is THIS weekend 🎉

Now… in a shocking and completely unforeseeable twist, the British weather has decided that what our summer fete really needs is ✨rain✨ 🫠☔️

However, come rain or shine, we plan on going ahead but we are desperately in need of a few more gazebos/event shelters to stop our volunteers, tombola prizes, games and possibly our teachers and Alpacas from slowly dissolving in the forecasted drizzle.

So this is our official plea/begging post 🙏🏻

If anyone has a gazebo, event shelter, waterproof miracle structure, or anything vaguely roof-like that we could borrow for the day, we would be eternally grateful and probably mention you fondly forever.

We can collect on Friday and return it safely after the fete — hopefully slightly drier than the forecast suggests.

Please help us keep the Great Langford Summer Fete Washout of 2026 from becoming a historical event 😂☔️

Thank you, everyone ❤️

This is the final week to respond to East West Rail’s consultation on London Road.

I know I have asked before (many times!) Bicester has already shown, loud and clear, that we are united behind keeping London Road open.

But this final push matters.

East West Rail has now put forward revised proposals for an underpass at London Road. We now need the Government to have no excuse not to back it, fund it and deliver it.

So, if you have five minutes this week, please respond to the consultation and make your voice heard.

Bicester has fought too hard to be ignored now.

Consultation closes Tuesday 9 June: https://eastwestrail.co.uk/consultation/consultation2026
