We currently run a Community Garden project at StudiO2 (the former St Edburg's primary school and regular Relove recycling events all over town Grassroots Bicester are a Community Action Group which was established in October 2010. The group comprises of local residents who shared a common interest in sustainability and community spirit. Our aim is to build a better world by growing a greener Bice
ster and we hope to:
* To work with local residents to build better community in Bicester
* To promote the 3 R’s of waste (Reduce, Re-use & Recycle)
* To support local residents in reducing Bicester’s carbon footprint
* To support local produce, local businesses and partnering with other
local organisations as well as local councils to deliver sustainable
projects to the community. Grassroots Bicester runs regular RELOVE events which allows local residents to recycle unwanted items. Please keep an eye out for announcements of our next event. Grassroots Bicester has participated in a number of projects since we began such as Bicester's Big Lunch, Glee (Grassroots leads Energy Efficiency), Freecycle Live, Relove, The Community Garden at StudiO2. The group was responsible for developing the Langford Community Orchard project in 2011 which is now a fantastic asset to the town, a beautiful green space growing fruit with and LOG are now a fully constituted group in their own right.
