Carers in Bedfordshire is raising vital funds to support outdoor activities for Young Carers, giving them the opportunity to take a break from their caring responsibilities, enjoy the outdoors, build confidence, make new friends, and simply be children. 🌿

🎨🌟 Our talented Young Carers have been busy creating some incredible railway-inspired artwork, and we're so proud to see it now on display in the Community Art Space at Bedford Train Station's Platform 1 waiting room.

As part of our Railway Art Project, Young Carers explored painting, drawing and creative design while building confidence, expressing themselves, and connecting with others in a supportive environment. The project was all about creativity, wellbeing and having fun together.

Last week, during Community Rail Week, they got to see their finished artwork proudly displayed for the public to enjoy. It was wonderful to watch their excitement and pride as they spotted their creations on display. 💚

The exhibition will be available to view throughout the summer, so if you're passing through Bedford Station, be sure to take a look. We'd love to see your photos too - if you visit the display, tag us in your pictures!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this opportunity possible and for helping us raise awareness of Young Carers across Bedfordshire through creativity and community.

🍕 Young Carers Cooking Club 🍕

What a brilliant Pizza Parlour-themed session at our Cooking Club last week! 👩‍🍳💛

Our Young Carers became chefs for the day - creating their own pizzas, choosing toppings and learning new skills in the kitchen 🍅🧀

There was loads of creativity, teamwork and laughter as everyone got stuck in - and the best part was sitting down together to enjoy their delicious creations 🙌

Sessions like this are all about giving Young Carers the chance to try something new, build confidence and take some well-deserved time out 💫

We can’t wait for the next one!

As exam season approaches, many Young Carers may be feeling the pressure 📚
Supporting a young person through exams and mock tests can be challenging and it’s completely natural to want to help in the right way.

Here are three simple but powerful ways you can support a Young Carer during this time 👇
✨ Create a safe space for them to talk openly about worries and concerns
✨ Encourage regular breaks from revision to prevent stress and burnout
✨ Be open about how their caring role may be affecting them and communicate with school so the right support can be put in place
