Gorgeous George - One Big Fight

Gorgeous George - One Big Fight George was a perfectly healthy, funny, clever 12-year-old boy when he developed a Glioblastoma brain tumour. 11.5 months later he was gone aged just 13.

We tried so hard to save him, but couldn't, so now we fundraise and raise awareness in his memory.

Yesterday I attended the debate in Parliament following the Brain Cancer Justice petition, which reached an incredible 109,000 signatures.

I know so many of George’s supporters signed the petition, wrote to their MPs, and asked them to attend and support the debate. Thank you. Every signature, every email, and every conversation helped make this happen.

I am incredibly proud of what the Brain Cancer Justice team has achieved. To bring brain cancer back onto the parliamentary agenda and secure this debate is a huge achievement. Now we hope the Health Minister has listened and, more importantly, that action follows.

A total of 34 MPs attended and spoke passionately during the debate:

Shockat Adam, Edward Argar, Lee Barron, Siân Berry, Lizzi Collinge, Liam Conlon, Ann Davies, Paul Davies, Helena Dollimore, Sarah Edwards, Chris Evans, Tim Farron, Monica Harding, Christine Jardine, Clive Jones, Ruth Jones, Charlie Maynard, John McDonnell, Dame Siobhain McDonagh, Robbie Moore, Joe Morris, Sarah Owen, Tom Rutland, Jim Shannon, Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst, David Simmonds, Alex Sobel, Greg Smith, John Slinger, Alistair Strathern, Cameron Thomas, Steve Yemm, Munira Wilson and Mike Wood.

Many spoke movingly in support of their own constituents who had either sadly been lost to a brain tumour or are currently battling this devastating disease.

Sadly, our own MP, Blake Stephenson, was too busy to attend yesterday. We will be writing to him and urging him to watch back the debate and begin supporting this cause from now on. This is especially disappointing given that his constituents made up the largest proportion of the 109,000 signatures, and he received the second-highest number of emails from constituents asking him to attend and show his support.

This debate was the first time since 2016 that a brain cancer petition has led to a parliamentary debate. We pray that notice will finally be taken, that promises will become action, and that meaningful change will come for everyone affected by brain tumours.

For George and all of the other angels and families affected by this devastating disease. ❤️

The incredible teachers and staff at Arnold Academy continue to make us and George so proud as they carry his spirit forward in everything they do.

This year, they are walking an amazing 17km in honour of George’s 17 years, not only keeping his memory alive but also walking for the wonderful Annalisa McKenna, a new family friend and cherished member of the Arnold team, who is bravely facing her own battle with Glioblastoma. We are endlessly proud of Annalisa and the strength she shows every single day.

We also want to give a mention to Mr Lumley who will be carrying 17kg on his back for the 17km - another nod to the age George would be right now 🥰

If you are able, please consider donating the cost of your afternoon coffee. Just £5 from 100 of George’s followers would create a truly meaningful impact.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.
The Fox Family xoxo

**IMPORTANT - CALL TO ACTION**

A few weeks ago many of you signed the Brain Cancer Justice petition calling for a debate in Parliament to increase research funding and give greater rights to brain tumour patients.

Having gained over 109,000 signatures a debate has been scheduled for 15th June.

Only 5% of petitions which cross the 100,000 mark actually get scheduled for debate so this is a huge opportunity for our voices to be heard.

After working so hard to get to this stage it is crucial that we have as many MP's as possible attending the debate.

Therefore we are calling on everyone to email your MP adapting the template below. You can find your MP's contact details on the following link - https://members.parliament.uk/FindYourMP

Together we can make a difference!

MP EMAIL TEMPLATE

Subject: “Invest in Brain Cancer and Give Rights: Turning TERMINAL into TREATABLE” – Westminster Hall, 15 June 2026, 6.00 pm

Dear MP,

I am writing as your constituent to ask for your urgent support on brain cancer — a disease that continues to devastate families across the UK and has been overlooked for far too long.

(If you feel able to add a short personal line, etc., here.)

I support Brain Cancer Justice (BCJ), a community driven by lived experience. More than 109,000 people have signed the petition because they expect delivery, not further delay or unfulfilled promises.

This matters to me because this issue affects people and families in our communities who deserve better outcomes, real options, and timely action.

Brain cancer is the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40, yet it receives only around 2% of total cancer research funding. Around 5,300 people die each year in the UK, and outcomes have not improved at the pace seen in other cancers.

Patients are still being left with too few options and too little time. This must change.

A crucial debate will take place in Westminster Hall on 15 June 2026 at 6.00 pm:
“Invest in Brain Cancer and Give Rights: Turning TERMINAL into TREATABLE”

I urge you, as my MP, to support the following actions to ensure the Government delivers:

· Ring‑fenced, protected funding for brain cancer research, separate from wider cancer budgets

· Guaranteed access to Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) for all brain cancer patients, with standardised post‑surgical tumour tissue collection and storage

· Improved access to clinical trials and innovative treatments, including a meaningful RIGHT TO TRY, where no standard options remain

· A named brain cancer lead with accountability, responsible for driving delivery across the Government and the health system

These actions are essential if government are serious about transforming brain cancer patients’ survival outcomes from TERMINAL to TREATABLE, delivering time‑bound, decisive action, protected investment, and full accountability without delay.

I hope we can work together to improve outcomes for people affected by brain cancer.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope you will be able to confirm your attendance and contribution towards this crucial debate.

Yours sincerely,

Later today, George’s big cuz Amy, and Aunt Hayley will be leaving for Scotland for a100km charity canoe trip through the Scottish Highlands (4 full days of canoeing and 4 nights wild camping).

They are doing this to support Brain Tumour Research in memory of George and for those affected and for the hope of better treatments and outcomes.

If you’re able to support, donate, or even just share this post, it would genuinely mean the world to them both as they head off on this crazy adventure.

We are all very proud of them both, as we know George would be too.

Fox Crescent now officially has people living in it ❤️

Seeing homes occupied on a street named after George is something we’re really proud of.

Soon they will be adding a QR code to the street sign so anyone passing can scan it and learn about George and his story 🥹Imagine lots of new people knowing all about our brave boy and the impact he’s had. I don’t think he would believe it 🥹

A big thank you to our friends Helen and Dean for helping make this happen. We’re so grateful for your support ❤️

What an absolutely brilliant night last Saturday at The Royal Oak.

Massive thank you to Zoe & Ella for organising, and to DJs Mark & Paul for the best tunes all night long. And of course, percussion extraordinaire Glenn Mac – you were unreal. We are so grateful for all you do ❤️

So fab to see so many of our friends having fun, in memory of George AND £800 raised for Brain Tumour Research – a cause that means so much.

So proud and grateful. Thank you to everyone who came, supported, danced, and donated. Nights like this really show what great mates and a wonderful community can do. ❤️
