Earlier this month, our President, Countess Howe, hosted a Seeing is Believing event with Friends & Patrons of Heart of Bucks. These events provide an opportunity for guests to see first-hand the impact of the grassroots charities and community groups that Heart of Bucks supports.

During the event we visited Grow to Give UK and Wendover Shed, and heard from The Potter's House Aylesbury, learning about the vital support they all provide to local communities.

Rain? What rain? 🌧️🚣

Our bell boating team day out at Longridge was packed with competitive races and hilarious charades on the water. Despite the downpour, everyone embraced the challenge, showed great team spirit, and enjoyed some healthy rivalry along the way.

It was a fantastic day of teamwork and plenty of smiles despite the soggy conditions!

The Skills for Good Fund is designed for local charities and community groups that want to improve an existing service or develop a new one, but don’t have the resources to invest in professional development.

High Wycombe Central Aid Society offer low cost second hand furniture and home appliances to people in need. They used a Skills for Good grant to enable staff and volunteers to attend an Electrical Domestic Appliance Installation training course. This has meant that they can now provide safe installation and de-installation of appliances for their beneficiaries.

High Wycombe Central Aid said:

"The appliance installation course has given staff and volunteers the practical skills and certification to implement customer installs. This means our beneficiaries can now start using appliances when we deliver and get a much more affordable service than commercial suppliers."
