Lindengate's new wetland project is nearing completion ...

This week have been planting out sedges and other wet plants.

The new wetland system has been created to solve longstanding waterlogging issues cause by our site’s high water table and clay soils. Instead of relying on traditional drainage solutions, this nature-based wetland takes site excess and waste water that has already been cleaned, and further filters and cleans it naturally through sedge beds in the wetland system. The water then flows into a series of ponds and ditches in the nature reserve before cycling back to the pond on the main site.

This project has been made possible through the generous support of the Rothschild Foundation.

Horticulture & Site Coordinator (24 hrs, Tues-Fri, £15ph)

We're looking for an experienced horticulturist with strong practical growing skills to help care for and develop our diverse 6-acre site in Wendover.

This hands-on role is perfect for someone with RHS Level 2/3 or equivalent experience, who is confident in food growing, polytunnel and greenhouse production, organic and no-dig methods, seasonal garden planning, plant health, soil management and biodiversity enhancement.

Working across our gardens, kitchen garden, orchards, wildlife areas and nurseries, you'll coordinate horticultural tasks, support and train volunteers, champion best practice in sustainable horticulture and help produce thriving spaces that benefit both nature and people.
