What a lush night we had again last night, you are all just the most lovely people and our Friday nights are the perfect way to end the working week. ๐Ÿฅฐ

We had one newbie this week for our Newbie hall of fame;
Emily is only 7 and has never skated anywhere other than the hallway in her house.
She was encouraged to come by her friend Evelyn who is one of our regulars.
I was super proud when Emily had a go at fast n furious and has promised to try more of the games next time. Emily said she had a good time and definitely wants to come back.
Well done Emily, you did a fantastic job and canโ€™t wait to welcome you back in the future.โญ๏ธ

We also had 2 birthdays in this week.
First we Mia who was 8 years old last Saturday but her Mum forgot to get tickets to last weekโ€™s session. Tsk tsk, canโ€™t get the parents nowadays! ๐Ÿ˜‚

And we also had the one and only Maiya who will be turning 21 on Monday!! Not sure how that happened because Iโ€™m sure she was only just born a heartbeat ago, but there we go.
It was so cute at the end of singing Happy Birthday when so many kids went to give Maiya a cuddle. ๐Ÿฅฐ
Thank you to Marie for the fabulous video.
We would like to wish both of our birthday girls the most wonderful birthday from all of your friends at Skaters club Ashington. ๐ŸŽ‰

In other news our 12 and over Fast n Furious continues to be entertaining with Alex being as hilarious as ever and Phoebe doing a roll at the end with dramatic flair! ๐Ÿคฃ And also Harrison let his whole family down by not beating Darcy in Fast n Furious after laying down the gauntlet!! Must try harder Harry! ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

Steven was conspicuously absent without a note from his responsible adultโ€ฆ hmmm, hope to see you next week Steven as the Skinnerettes are known as a quartet, not a trio. ๐Ÿค”

Anyhoo, have the most wonderful week and we will see you all again on Friday. ๐Ÿ›ผ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ๐Ÿ’–

Again, better late than never. My weekends are slightly packed at the moment so I apologise again. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

Friday was another warm one so we appreciate you all still coming along and joining us and continuing to provide us with all the laughs. ๐Ÿ˜‚
I think that the over 12โ€˜s are now outnumbering the under 12โ€˜s which is a bit of a turnaround! Getting older is inevitable but growing up is definitely optionalโ€ฆ I tried it once but it wasnโ€™t for me! ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
On the subject of not growing up, Nick was a little tinker and was cheating massively in Fast n Furious, holding me back from going and getting the rest of the players, and Iโ€™m sure that Emma will back me up and agree that those moves would definitely have landed him in the sin bin in roller derby! Tut tut Nick, you should know by now that I am the only cheater in that game! ๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

We had the games in the small hall again today and that definitely works better in terms of space and general safety so we will keep them in there until we move back to our normal hall again.

We had no Newbies with us on Friday but we did have 5 Birthday in! Late August must be a romantic time. ๐Ÿคญ

We had Aaron who was 8 on the 28th May,
Victoria who was a very young 36 on the 30th May,
Twins, Joshua and Jessica who turn 8 today (still cannot believe they are twins),
And last but not least, Bella who will turn 12 on the 4th June which is mindblowing as she first started skating with us when she had just started walking and now she is 12 ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿฅฐ.
We would like to wish all of our birthday boys and girls a very Happy Birthday from all of your friends at Skaters Club Ashington.๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽˆ๐ŸŽ‰

Well it looks like the weather has turned for the worse again today but we had a fabulous week of sunshine for the kids being off school and hopefully the sunshine will return again soon. ๐ŸŒž

Have the most amazing week and we will see you all again on Friday. ๐Ÿ›ผ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ๐Ÿ’–

What a scorcher it was last night, perfect for me, long may this weather continue because itโ€™s so nice to not need a coat when you go out. ๐ŸŒž

We decided to try having all of the games in the smaller room last night which seemed to work quite well and left the main hall for skating whilst the games were being played. ๐Ÿ˜Š

We had 2 Newbies last night for our Newbie hall of fame;
First we had Jean-Luke who is brother and son to our long time friends Harry and Alex. Alex finally managed to pry Jean-Luke away from the computer long enough to come and skate with us.โญ๏ธ
He did such a good job as he has only ever skateboarded before.
Although he was โ€˜Forced to comeโ€™ he did say it was โ€œQuite enjoyableโ€, which is apparently high praise indeed. ๐Ÿฅฐ
Our next newbie was Tristan who is only 6 years old.
Tristan actually Skated with us for the first time last week but I didnโ€™t manage to catch him last week. He said he had fab time and can go really fast now and will be back soon. ๐ŸŒŸ
None of our Newbies played any games this week but they did promise to join in soon.

Alex became our chief cheerleader, being very vocal in rallying the troops to do battle in Countdown. The hilarity always follows where Alex goes! ๐Ÿ˜‚
Darcy managed to crash out again in Countdown, will need to check those wheels?! ๐Ÿค•
Maiya and Lee then went onto win the game. Well done to everyone who played though, you were amazing! ๐Ÿ†

Lots more Limbo improvements this week too and the speed session was brilliant with everyone giving it their all. ๐Ÿ…

Have the most amazing half term break and we will see you all again next Friday. ๐Ÿ’–๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ๐Ÿ›ผ

Well better late than never, I have just had the most hectic weekend that I never managed to get the write up done until now. I do apologise. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ

It was another outstanding Friday in our alternative halls and I love how so many of you embrace the temporary change and some of you even prefer it.

We had 3 newbies on Friday for our Newbie Hall of Fame;

First we had James who last skated 20 years ago in the streets. He also used to ice skate. He threw down the challenge last week that he was going to be the new champion of Countdown and so this week he had to put his money where his mouth isโ€ฆ turns out, his ego was writing cheques his body couldnโ€™t cash (if youโ€™re old enough youโ€™ll get that reference! ๐Ÿ‘ต๐Ÿป๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ˜‚).
He joined in with Countdown which he actually got quite far in, but then off came the boots half way through the session and that was that.
Kudos for trying James and we hope you will be back when we get back to the other hall where you can get a proper long sprint in, your speed will improve no end.๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ…

Next we had Laurie who is 11, she has skated outside before but never in a hall.
Laurie joined in with Limbo this week but definitely intends to try our other games in the future. She said she had a good time and wants to come back.
Along with Laurie came Amelie who is 12.โญ๏ธ
The last time that she skated was when she was very little but never in a hall.
She also had lots of fun even though she didnโ€™t join in the games this week she wants to come back and will join in the games next time. ๐ŸŒŸ
Both Laurie and Amelie were brought along by Kathryn who has come along a few times before and wanted to share the fun with her friends this time.

Well done to all of our Newbies, you all did a brilliant job and we canโ€™t wait to see you again. ๐Ÿ†

In the kids Fast n Furious, the players are now consistently outrunning the chasers so I think we will need to start hand picking some of the faster chasers to give the players a bit more of a challenge, or is that too devious? Maybe we will send Maiya and Darcy off after them? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ˜‚

Speaking of Darcy, that was a spectacular wipe out when chasing in 12 and over Fast n Furious, sadly we got no video because that would have been one for the family album! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Have the most wonderful week, hopefully the sunshine will continue and not go back to sleet and hail. ๐ŸŒž

See you all again this Friday! ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ›ผ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ

What a fabulous first Friday back in our alternative halls.
We did expect a small amount of disruption as we settled back in but there was none. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘
Loads of laughs and a few newbies too.
Firstly in our Newbie hall of fame we had Shane.
Shane has never ever skated in life but had always promised our long time regular Lora that if he was ever back from working away on a Friday that he would join her.
I am amazed at how well he was skating having never skated in his life but I only assume that the fact that he used to ski when he was younger helped with his technique. โญ๏ธ
Next we had Noel EHO although he has skated before, the last time was in 2019 at our old Concordia session. His skills were still intact and he joined in with Count down and fast n furious.
In his own words, Noel has claimed the honour of being the โ€œOldest loserโ€ in our games but he really enjoyed it and will definitely be back.
Along with Noel came Elizabeth.
Last time she skated was over 15 years ago but she found her feet again quickly. Elizabeth didnโ€™t play any games this week as she was warned by her work that she had important work in this coming week and so she couldnโ€™t injure herself but she enjoyed the session so much that she fully intends to come back and join in the games next time! ๐ŸŒŸ
Along with Noel and Elizabeth came Adam. They are all part of the same archery club so their skating trip was a club outing.
Adam skated a bit at the coast during lockdown on aggressive skates but since then, he has only Ice skated in December last year.
Adam didnt join in the games this time but Iโ€™m sure we can convince him to try them on his next visit.โญ๏ธ

Our last newbie was Eliza who is only 4 years old and actually lives in Cyprus.
Eliza was over here for a visit staying with her aunty. Eliza had an amazing time and will come back and visit us on her next visit to the UK. ๐ŸŒŸ
Well done to all of our Newbies, we canโ€™t wait to welcome you back to future sessions. ๐Ÿ†

In other news, James had a hilarious wardrobe malfunction whilst trying some tricks whereby his shorts decided to give up at the seams. No photos as we donโ€™t want to be shut down for indecency!! ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ˜œ But safe to say he took it as a sign to head on home at that point!! ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿคฃ

Sorry to the kids for forgetting about the limbo pole, but at least I got there in the end and we had to pretty impressive jumps again, especially from Grace (even though Elise was more going for the long jump as opposed to high jump! ๐Ÿ˜Š).
Well done to you all and also well done to everyone who joined in the games and those who cheered the players on. Itโ€™s such a great atmosphere.

We have a Minecraft figure in lost property. Give me a shout if itโ€˜s yours?

Have the most wonderful week and we will see you all again next Friday. ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ›ผ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ

Last time in our usual hall until the GCSEโ€™s are finished and we were back up to full numbers again for the night. ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŽ“
We had lots of Newbies but I only managed to get to 3 of them tonight. Iโ€™ll get the rest of them on their next visit.
First we had Alana who is 7 and skated for the first time at a private party before our main session. She came this week with older sister Frances 14 who last skated in 2020 at our Concordia session before it shut down. How cool to see a regular from so long ago.โญ๏ธ

Next we had Noah who is only 6 (no photo).
Noah has only skated on carpet before and yet straight away he found his feet and joined in with Limbo, Fast n furious and our speed session. ๐ŸŒŸ

All of our newbies had a brilliant time and canโ€™t wait to comeback next week.

It was fabulous to see Dirk back again this week after a long break due to a football/sports injury.๐Ÿค•

Our 12 and over games are getting even more popular now that more of our kids are getting older, this will bring up everyoneโ€™s game including the younger ones.๐Ÿ’ช

Donโ€™t forget that next week we will be in the 2 halls at the other end of the school. Please use the main school doors to enter the building. We will be in those halls until the end of June after which we will return to our normal hall.

Have a wonderful Bank Holiday and we will see you all next week. ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ๐Ÿ›ผ๐Ÿ’–

01/05/2026

โ€ผ๏ธOnly 1 ticket remaining for tonightโ€™s session. โ€ผ๏ธ
This is the last one in our normal hall until the end of June.
See you all there ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ›ผ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ

26/04/2026

What a busy weekend which started with our Friday skate where our numbers were back up to full strength again. ๐Ÿ’ชโญ๏ธ

I got no photos from Friday but Marie kindly sent through some videos of Maiya and Darcy jumping the limbo pole. Darcy always has been just a little more of a nutter than her sister hence the higher jumps. ๐Ÿ˜‚

We had no newbies this week and no birthdays during our main session which is really unusual.

We did have almost complete participation in our games this week and fantastic battles in fast n furious again and you all brought your best cheering voices again. ๐Ÿ†

I will be announcing it separately again but Iโ€™ve now had it confirmed that next week (1st May) will be our last night in our normal hall until the GCSEโ€™s have been completed again in June, so we will be once again moving down the corridor to the other 2 rooms at the other end of the school from Friday 8th May. ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŽ“

We will always be grateful to the school for keeping us up and running in the exam season and so we make it work and you are all amazing too how you adapt to the other halls. Some of you also love the other end of the school, especially the kids who attend the school who get to say they have skated through the school! ๐Ÿ˜‚

See you all in our normal hall this coming Friday (1st May). ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ๐Ÿ›ผ

A quieter night at our session last due to holidays and illness for some of our regulars. Get well soon to those that are poorly. ๐Ÿ˜ท๐Ÿค’

Whilst we had a bit more floor space it did give us the opportunity to do Countdown for the kids which was very popular. Clearly the speed sessions have been paying off because most were still in by 4 lengths. ๐Ÿ†

11 and under Fast n Furious was fantastic again, lots of effort put in by the skaters and chasers and Big up the Mum support for Lenni and Hallie who put everything into winning at all costs! Those skates were almost smoking!! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
Well done to Rosie for being brave enough to give chasing a go this week, fabulous effort.
4 left in at the end, Grace, Olivia, Jackson and Jax after an epic battle again and you raised the roof with your cheering. Love it. ๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿฅ‡

During the 12 & over Countdown the oldies outnumbered the kids in the 11 and unders and I didnโ€™t bully anyone into playing this week!
This week we were going clockwise again which is soooo much harder so well done to all for how long you all stayed in, your stamina is definitely getting better.
Oliver made his finale with a flourish as he fell and slid straight towards me, luckily I stayed upright and was on hand for a photo ๐Ÿ˜† but his tracksuit pants became a casualty as he burned a hole through the knee! 10/10 for commitment!! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Some epic jumps from the flying Skinnerettes who were all sporting branded Snap on merch from Dadโ€™s garage!! Sure he gets paid for advertising?! ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜œ
Darcy also did one of her amazing jumps which she should really do more often (think we also need a group trip to hang out in Whitley skate park and learn more tricks). ๐Ÿ’ช

Corners was over in a flash when most of the group were taken out in one go, well done to my pickers for that one. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

Special thanks to our resident โ€œSpider-Manโ€ Liam who casually picked up an enormous arachnid (so big you could see it across the hall, so I was informed) and carried it outside without harming it! Well done Liam, I love all living creatures but Spiders above the size of a money spider are a big Nope from me ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Have an awesome week. Canโ€™t wait to do it all again next Friday ๐Ÿ›ผ๐Ÿ’–๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ

15/04/2026

Half of our tickets have already been booked for this Friday (17th April).
If you know that you need a ticket, please do not delay in booking as I am aware that some people missed out on a ticket last Friday.
See you all on Friday. ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ›ผ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ
