KCC have advised Openreach - Temporary Road Closure - Gladstone Road, Willesborough - 2nd December 2026 (Ashford District)
Due to works planned to be undertaken by Openreach, it will be necessary to close part of Gladstone Road, Willesborough from 2nd December 2026 with estimated completion by 3rd December 2026, between the hours of 09:00 and 17:00, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between numbers 12 and 30, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Gladstone Road, Mead Road, Crowbridge Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole and cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.

The online booking form is now closed, but SWANCC wants everyone in the community to have the chance to take part. If you haven’t booked, come along from 12 noon and you’ll be welcome on a first come, first served basis, subject to availability

Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate and share their views in the NEWTOWN TRAFFIC, PARKING AND ROAD SAFETY CONSULTATION.

Following the Consultation, SWANCC reviewed the Survey Results at the Full Council Meeting 5th October 2026. The Survey Prize Winner of the £50.00 Shopping Voucher, was also selected at the Council meeting and will be notified in due course. The Survey Results are now published for Residents to review and will be shared with Ashford Borough Council for their review and consideration. Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) event alongside Pick Your Own Pumpkin Day

Residents can safely recycle their unwanted small electrical items and keep them out of landfill at the same time.

This includes anything with a plug, battery or cable - just make sure it's microwave-sized or smaller.

There's no need to sign up to recycle, just turn up!

The team have been working hard on preparations and everyone is looking forward to the day.
A huge thank you to the SWANCC PSEO Mr Heathfield who has worked so hard to get the site ready for everyone to visit.

The Community Allotment harvest is here and it’s ready for collection on a first come first served basis 🥕🥕🧅🧅🎃
You may have spotted just some of the many pumpkins growing as you walk past the side gates.
You might be surprised to know the Community Allotment found another 15 pumpkins have grown since the September count! 🎃🎃🎃
There are plenty of pumpkins for everyone! 🎃🎃
