Chardstock Play Area

Chardstock Play Area In 2009 a group of volunteers reopened the Play Area after years of neglect. The aim is to provide a fun and exciting area for all ages of the community.

Charity No 1141119. The profile photo is how Chardstock Play Area looked in 2009, neglected, overgrown and padlocked shut. Unhappy with this situation a group of residents formed a committee with the aim of reopening and rejuventing the play area. In April 2010 after a lot of hardwork from the new committee (Chardstock Park Trust) and countless tidy up weekends by members of the community, the pla

y area reopened to the public, giving our children somewhere safe and fun to play again. Since reopening we have raised funds to install a new access, improve the layout of the site and repair the only original equipment still standing, a timber swing frame, through fundraising events and funding applications. More recently we have installed 2 new pieces of equipment, based on suggestions from pupils at the village primary school. It is so rewarding to see the play area full of life again and being used by all ages of the community. The committee remain as enthusiastic as ever about the next phase of our plan to provide a toddler area as and when funds allow. Watch this space for updates! We will update this page with new photos as and when further improvments are made. So if you have any ideas for fundraising or suggestions for the play area we would love to hear from you, via facebook or email us at [email protected]
