We wanted to say a massive thank you to those that attended our New Members Day! 🦢

We hope you enjoyed yourself and got a feel to what we do and got the chance to meet our current crazy members😂

We are grateful and appreciate the opportunity to hold a new members day!😁We may not have much livestock on site, but it’s not just the animals that make us a club, it’s the experience from farm trips, the friends you make, the memories as well as laughter that will make you chuckle for a lifetime☺️

Please remember you don’t need to attend a new members day to become a member! Just pop us a message or email about your interest and we can organise you to be with us on a club session! 🦢💜

Meet this years committee team! 🦢
To begin our Chairman of the year is Mia! She has been apart of Swan YFC for a few years and is an intelligent and experienced member to have on the farm😌
Our Vice Chairman of the year is Katie! As you are aware Katie was previously our bubbly and intelligent chairperson for this club for a few years running. She has enjoyed her time as chairperson and will continue to work hard and well within this team😁
Next we have our Junior Vice chairman, Katie! Our enthusiastic Katie has been apart of the club for a couple years and has returned to her duties again this year on the same position, we look forward to what ideas she can bring to the table this year!😊
Lastly we have our Secretary, Megan! Whom has been apart of the club for nearly 10 years! Megan is one of our senior members who is enthusiastic and cannot wait to showcase her skills and knowledge gained within young farmers!☺️

We cannot wait for the year ahead, with many plans and activities for our young farmers we certainly look forward to it ourselves and what this year can bring🦢💜

🍴🏆 National Young Farmers Cooking Competition Finals! 🏆🍴

Today, our members travelled all the way to the Three Counties Showground in Malvern to represent Kent at the National Young Farmers Cooking Competition Finals — and what an amazing result! 🎉
Competing against 36 teams from across the country, our members achieved an impressive 13th place! 👏🎉

The competition challenged teams to use the theme “Festival” to create a three-course meal while promoting and celebrating local produce.
Our members chose a Day of the Dead theme for their menu, creating:
💀 Starter: Nachos & hummus
🌶️ Main: Chilli con carne
💀 Dessert: Rice Krispie skull cakes

From planning and preparation to cooking and presentation, our members put in an incredible amount of effort to produce their three-course meal and represent Kent on the national stage.
We couldn’t be prouder of their 13th place finish out of 36 teams! 🏆👏
After a long day of cooking, competing and travelling, we think our members have definitely earned a well-deserved good night’s sleep! 😴😂

Our members and leaders also had great fun taking part in some of the fun extra classes throughout the weekend! 🎉🐑🐄

Many of our members entered the Ex-Members Class, representing their previous Young Farmers' Clubs, and we were also delighted to welcome back some of our former members to compete. It was fantastic to see so many familiar faces back in the ring! Most of our current members made it through to the final line-up, with our clubs members proudly taking 1st, 2nd and 4th places.

Our members also took part in the Beef & Dairy Pairs classes, where they teamed up with cattle from other clubs attending the show. Together they achieved some fantastic results, winning 2nd in Dairy Pairs, along with 2nd and 5th in Beef Pairs.

Our Suffolk shearling Ali competed in the popular Sheep Sweepstakes class, where one of our members showed her off halter in a large and competitive class. They put in a brilliant performance and came away with 6th place.

Ali also took part in the Teachers & Leaders Class, where our helper Lisa stepped into the show ring to show a sheep for the very first time! She did a fantastic job, and it was great to see our leaders getting involved and having fun alongside the members.

These fun classes are always a highlight of the weekend, bringing everyone together, creating plenty of laughs, and making even more fantastic memories. 💚🐑🐄
