Having a clear-out? Got a teddy bear or two (or perhaps an entire family!) sitting in a cupboard looking for a new home?

We're collecting teddies and soft toys for our Teddy Tombola at the Chandler Club's Charity Christmas Fair on Sunday 29th November at Ascot Day Centre. 🎄🎅

If you have any clean, good-condition cuddly friends that are ready for a new adventure, we'd be absolutely delighted to give them a second chance to make someone smile!

Every teddy donated will help us raise much-needed funds to support older people in our local community. ❤️

One of our volunteers can come and pick them up or donations can be dropped off at Ascot Day Centre in Sunninghill.

Please share with friends and family – you never know who might have a teddy or ten looking for a new home!

Thank you for your support! 🧸💕

Could your fundraising experience make a difference to a local charity?

The Chandler Club at Ascot Day Centre supports older people in our local community, helping our members stay active, connected and independent.

Like many small charities, fundraising is vital to what we do, and we’re looking for professional fundraisers or people with significant fundraising experience who may be willing to support us.

Whether you could offer some of your time, advice or expertise, help us identify new funding opportunities, or support us with grant applications and fundraising strategy, we’d love to hear from you.

If you have professional fundraising experience and would like to use your skills to make a real difference to a small local charity, please send us a message to find out more.

And if you know someone who might be able to help, please share this post with them.

💖GO GEORGIA! 💖🏃‍♀️

Our lovely volunteer Georgia has been training very hard to take on the Windsor Half Marathon this Sunday, raising vital funds for The Chandler Club at The Ascot Day Centre.

Before signing up, Georgia was a complete non-runner, so taking on 13.1 miles is no mean feat! We are beyond proud of her determination and so grateful for her support.

Please help us cheer Georgia on and, if you can, sponsor her using the link below. Every donation makes a difference.

Just 11 days to go until our brave team takes the plunge for the Chandler Club at the Ascot Day Centre! 🪂

We’re getting closer to the big day, but we haven’t reached our fundraising target yet – and we’d love your help to get us there.

Every donation will help us continue providing much-needed services for local older people, giving them a place to meet, enjoy activities, make friends and, importantly, helping to tackle loneliness and isolation in our community.

So, as Robert, Geoff, Penny and Alex prepare to jump out of a perfectly good aeroplane 😬, please consider showing them your support with a donation – however large or small.

Can you help us reach our target before they take the plunge on 20 September?

Donate here: https://gofund.me/3ae1b9514

Thank you for supporting the Chandler Club and Ascot Day Centre.

There’s fundraising… and then there’s jumping out of a perfectly good aeroplane.

On 20 September, Robert, Geoff, Penny and Alex will be taking to the skies – and then, rather alarmingly, leaving the aircraft without it.

They’re doing it to raise money for Ascot Day Centre, helping us continue to provide a welcoming place where local older people can meet, enjoy activities, make friends and spend time together.

The nerves may be starting to kick in, so now would be an excellent time to remind them why they agreed to do this!

If you can, please sponsor our brave (or possibly slightly mad) team. Every donation, however big or small, will help support the Day Centre.

Sponsor the skydive: https://gofund.me/a8a47c9d6

And if you can’t donate, a share would be hugely appreciated.

19 days to go… 🪂😳

Why not come and join us in our new ‘Card Making Class’ which is now being held at The Chandler Club - making cards for all occasions which are being sold locally, and at various fund-raising events in the area to raise money for the Club.

Enjoy a relaxing day, meet new people and create beautiful, handcrafted cards, great for keeping the mind active, focussed, and gives a great sense of achievement.

‘Making a handmade card for that special person is far more meaningful’.

‘You come into the class black and white and leave in colour’

No experience needed, step by step 1 to 1 guidance in a very friendly environment.

One of the ladies who attends the class says - “I look forward to the class each week, it’s very creative, uplifting, interesting, give us something to do that gets you thinking, also helping the centre to raise money and is a very friendly group”.

These sessions not only encourage creativity and mental stimulation but also help reduce loneliness by bringing people together in a warm and welcoming space. For many of our attendees, the day centre is a vital lifeline - offering friendship, routine, and a sense of belonging.

This is a new addition to our already busy activities schedule, which everyone is welcome to come and join in.

Why not spend the day doing various activities, enjoying outings and a home cooked nutritious two course lunch.

The Chandler Club offers a social connection and opportunities to meet other people in a very friendly environment.

Everyone is welcome.

Please contact Claire Williams, Centre Manager on 01344 624923 for a visit at the centre and to meet some of the team.

A huge thank you to our friends at The Nags Head in Sunningdale for hosting such a fantastic BBQ to help raise funds for us. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who took part, and supported the day.

Happy Easter everyone 🐣🐣🐰

These beautiful creations were made by one of our lovely members. Several of our members enjoy knitting and some of them have been making blankets for Battersea Cats and Dogs Home.

We’re currently looking for donations of knitting wool, so they can continue their lovely projects. If you have any spare yarn lying around we’d be so grateful to receive it.

Thank you so much for your support. 🙏
