Today, we celebrate more than just a date on the calendar, we celebrate our identity, our heritage, and the enduring spirit of Samoa. 🇼🇸

As we mark Samoa’s Independence Day, we honor the sacrifices, resilience, and faith of those who came before us and paved the way for the nation we proudly call home. From our rich culture and traditions to the values of family, respect, and service that continue to shape us, there is so much to be grateful for.

No matter where we are in the world, Samoa lives within us, in our language, our songs, our faith, our laughter, and the love we carry for our people. Today is a reminder of the strength of our ancestors, the beauty of our culture, and the responsibility we have to preserve it for future generations.

Proud to be Samoan. Proud of where we come from. Proud of who we are.

May God continue to bless our nation, guide our leaders, and strengthen our people.

Happy Independence Day, Samoa! 🇼🇸❤️💙🤍

April 17 holds a special place in our Pacific history as American Samoa Flag Day. 🇦🇸

Check out June Peau, a Bachelor of Oral Health student at the College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences. As a proud American Samoan native, June shares the deep history of her home and what this day truly means to her people.

From all of us here at Fiji National University, we wish our students, staff, and their families a wonderful American Samoa Flag Day. 🇦🇸

⚠️ Dear members and families, as the cyclone approaches Fiji, we encourage everyone to stay calm and begin preparations early. Please secure your homes, gather essential supplies, and check on one another. Let’s continue to care and pray for our community and keep everyone safe🚨
Stay safe everyone🇫🇯🤍

⚠️CYCLONE ALERT – STAY SAFE STUDENTS ⚠️

Tropical Depression 11F has now intensified into Tropical Cyclone Vaianu (Category 1) and is currently located to the north of Fiji, moving southwards while strengthening.

As the system develops, strong winds and heavy rainfall may begin to affect parts of the country. Students are strongly advised to remain alert and take all necessary precautions during this time.

Please ensure you:
• Stay updated through official weather advisories
• Avoid unnecessary travel, especially in affected areas
• Secure personal belongings and important documents
• Charge devices and prepare emergency supplies
• Follow all safety instructions issued by authorities

FNUSA encourages all students to prioritize their safety and well-being. Take this time to prepare, stay indoors where possible, and look out for one another.
