Bonn got a little more colorful this weekend 🎨🔥
“A Million Voices & Art One Bonn”
For 3 days straight, we turned an underpass between Kaiserstraße & Königstraße into a giant community graffiti studio.
As part of our project, we teamed up with through their Art One Bonn project , local artists, and the community to create murals and graffiti around peace, integration, solidarity, and human connection.
The “A Million Voices” project aims to improve the mental health and social integration of Ukrainian refugees in the EU through innovative art and storytelling therapy. It is being implemented in three partner countries and focuses on empowering refugees and fostering social cohesion with local communities.
The centerpiece is a gorgeous mural created with Lithuanian street artist Rolandas Ivanauskas in support of Ukrainian welcoming and solidarity 🇺🇦
In addition, local artists Lena Jukna from Bonn, , Manon Metge, KunstHenrik, other local artists, as well as course participants Dominica, Nele, Miriam, Lujan, Karl, Shirin, Juliana, Emiliana, Juri, Leo, Marta, Miriam, Mario, Hali Kai, Mahmoud, and others were involved in creating the surrounding murals.
The coolest part?
We BUILT this art together.
Ideas became sketches.
Sketches became murals.
And blank concrete walls became stories.
We deeply thank ArtsFourLove, the Civil Engineering Office and the Cultural Affairs Office of the City of Bonn for providing the walls, and to the Evangelical Kreuzkirche Parish in Bonn for allowing us to use their classrooms.
Public spaces should feel alive.
This one definitely does now. 🖌️✨
