Daring Cities 2024 Bonn Dialogues kicks off today, bringing together key actors in the urban climate space for high-level discussions.

This year’s event features the first-ever joint public appearance of the UNFCCC COP28 and COP29 High-Level Climate Champions, Razan Al Mubarak and Nigar Arpadarai. They will be joined by local leaders like Axel Grael of Niterói, Brazil, and Georges Youssef of Menjez, Lebanon, to discuss strategies for multilevel climate action.

Additionally, the event includes a closed-door roundtable of national governments endorsing the COP28 Coalition for High Ambition Multilevel Partnerships (CHAMP), aimed at enhancing cooperation between national and subnational governments in climate strategy implementation.

For the past five years, has positioned cities and regions at the heart of global climate discussions, providing them with a platform to influence global climate policy and driving action toward achieving the Paris Agreement's goals.

Daring Cities is held in Bonn, Germany, alongside the Subsidiary Bodies’ Bonn Climate Change Conference. This year’s sixtieth edition (SB60) takes place from 3 to 13 June and aims to build on the outcomes of UNFCCC COP28 in Dubai last year, drive progress, and prepare decisions for the upcoming COP29 in Baku in November.

📣 The countdown is on: Daring Cities 2024 Bonn Dialogues kicks off on 3 June!

Taking place from 3 to 5 June in Bonn, Germany, alongside the annual UNFCCC Bonn Climate Conference (the ), the fifth edition of Bonn Dialogues is an in-person event bringing together key actors in the urban climate space for high-level discussions to accelerate the implementation of ambitious, inclusive and multilevel climate action through an integrated and holistic approach.

Co-convened by and the Federal City of Bonn .de, this edition features a packed program, focusing especially on the implementation of historic COP28 UAE outcomes on multilevel climate action, in particular the CHAMP initiative, and linking the climate agenda to sustainable urbanization.

No matter where you are in the world, you’re invited to follow along! On Tuesday, 4 June, we’ll livestream “Bonn Dialogues: Insights for Multilevel Action,” which includes a plenary featuring the first-ever joint public dialogue of UN COP28 UAE and COP29 Azerbaijan High-Level Climate Champions, Razan Al Mubarak and Nigar Arpadarai, respectively, alongside mayors and other subnational leaders and representatives.

Under the theme "Powering collective action to respond to the climate emergency," Daring Cities 2024, co-convened by and the Federal City of Bonn Bonn.de,, aims to elevate multilevel climate action by providing a platform for cities and regions boldly tackling the climate emergency.

Held from 3 to 5 June in Bonn, Germany, alongside the annual UNFCCC Bonn Climate Conference, Daring Cities 2024 Bonn Dialogues is an in-person event convening key actors in the urban climate space for high-level discussions. This edition features a packed program, focusing especially on the implementation of historic COP28 UAE outcomes on multilevel climate action and linking the climate agenda to sustainable urbanization.

Significant milestones will shape this year's agenda with customized target audience events:
