📣 Updated Pop-Up Navigation Hours at the Wetaskiwin Public Library

Reagan, our Community Resource Navigator, has updated hours at the Wetaskiwin Public Library to make it easier to drop in and get connected to supports.

📍 Wednesdays | 1:00–4:00 p.m.
⏰ Second Wednesday of each month | 10:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Thank you to our FCSSAA President, Kayla Blanchette, for continuing to advocate on behalf of FCSS' across the province. 💙

FCSSAA President Kayla Blanchette continues to press for funding to support every day Albertans through FCSS prevention programs. She recently followed up with Premier Danielle Smith on her comments at ABMunis 2025, asking why FCSS did not receive an increase in Budget 2026.

We know municipalities continue to contribute well beyond the required 20 per cent, and FCSSAA is reinforcing the need for sustainable, long‑term investment in prevention. 🔗Watch CBC coverage: https://bit.ly/4dPTsQg

Continuing our “Family Connections Through Creativity” series, we’re excited to bring families together for a special morning of learning, creating, and connection.

Join us for our Family Beading Workshop on Saturday, October 24 from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM.

We’re honoured to welcome Kelly Sadlbak, who will share some of his beautiful beadwork, talk with families about the cultural importance of beading, and guide everyone through creating their own beaded wristlet.

$10 per person includes supplies, snacks, drinks, coffee and tea.

No experience is needed — just come ready to learn and create together.

In recognition of World Mental Health Day, join Wetaskiwin FCSS, Wetaskiwin Public Library, and Primary Care Alberta as we come together to support menstrual equity and mental well-being. 💗

Period poverty can impact mental health, confidence, and everyday life. Help us reduce barriers and ensure everyone has access to the products they need.

This October, we’re coming together to support survivors and families accessing the Camrose Women's Shelter Society! 💜

Wetaskiwin FCSS, Kinette Club of Wetaskiwin, and Wetaskiwin's CSWB Strategy are hosting a month-long donation drive from October 1–31, collecting new clothing, toiletries, items for children and teens, household essentials, and gift cards.

A simple donation can provide comfort and dignity to someone during a difficult time. 💜

FCSS is partnering with the Red Deer Native Friendship Society - RDNFS to offer an SCIS Card Clinic in Wetaskiwin!

Today, our community came together to recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation — an important day to honour Survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and reflect on the ongoing journey of reconciliation. 🧡

Thank you to everyone who came together today, and to the event organizers who made this meaningful gathering possible.

As we reflect, we also acknowledge that there is still so much work to be done. Reconciliation requires continued learning, listening, understanding, and action — not just today, but every day.

Every Child Matters. 🧡
