Last Friday we celebrated Thanksgiving in style! Thanks Rolly for the amazing decor that really got us in the mood! We enjoyed turkey sandwiches and pumpkin pie and had a chance to talk about all the things we are thankful for - for family and friends - care partners in particular, pets, nature, love, life, food, kindness and of course the VSRA. Thank you to our volunteers who worked hard to make this lunch happen. And a big thank you to Save on Foods, Foul Bay, for the donation of a gourmet gift basket as a raffle prize!

We did it! The first Stroke Survivor Para Dragon Boat Team in Canada!
A Stroke Ahead - the Victoria Stroke Recovery Association's Dragon Boat Team has been some years in the making - the vision, the logistics, the funding - and now the reality.
Since May, they have been hitting the water at the Victoria Canoe and Kayak Club and on Saturday, they participated in Gorge Fest - their first race.
Congratulations to our Team!
A HUGE thank you to so many people - our amazing coaches, Karen and Keith Wilson, to Peter our manager and inspiration, to the Victoria Stroke Recovery Association Board of Directors who have worked so hard to make this happen, to our generous sponsors, to the Victoria Canoe and Kayak Club, VSRA members and volunteers paddlers who have supported us and mostly to the stroke survivors and care partners of the Victoria Stroke Recovery Association who have proved that life after stroke is more than surviving...it's thriving!

On Friday 10th July, the VSRA had our annual Summer Picnic at Gyro Park. It was a cold, windy day but our heart were warm! We had a great time chatting, playing games and of course eating the wonderful food. A HUGE thank you to Thrifty Foods, Tuscany, Red Barn Oak Bay and Peppers, Cadboro Bay for their support of this event.

Last Sunday some members of the Victoria Stroke Recovery Association attended a Victoria Harbourcats Baseball Game. It was a fun outing but best of all, our amazing 50/50 team sold $4300 worth of 50/50 tickets securing a whopping $2150 in funds for our program. Way to go!
