Community Living Victoria - Family Support Through Family Support we provide information, resources, advocacy and support in a variety of topics that families request.

On December 16, 1955, a group of dedicated parents founded what is now called Community Living Victoria. Today, as the largest non-profit community living service provider on Vancouver Island, Community Living Victoria provides a range of support services to children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families. Our work is guided by our values, experience and history and draws fr

om strong roots in the community. Community Living Victoria recognizes the rights of everyone to have a full range of life choices, including access to education, affordable and appropriate housing, leisure options, gainful employment and participation in the community. A healthy community encourages the involvement of everyone.

Interested in playing some fun video games with friends? Wa-hoo!

Next Tuesday, June 2nd, from 2:30pm to 4:00pm, we're hosting an Accessible Gaming Hangout! We'll be featuring a variety of Nintendo Switch games that can be played with two or more players! Many of these games also have some really neat accessibility features!

The game line-up includes:
-Super Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: classic racing fun for up to four players, with steering wheel controllers!
-The Vale: Shadow of the Crown: an immersive role-playing game that is entirely
played through audio cues, ideal for people who are blind!
-Super Mario Party: a competitive multiplayer with a large collection of fun mini games!
-Nintendo Switch Sports: a variety of sports, including bowling, basketball and more, with simple motion controls

✨ The Joan Turner Bursary is now the Joan Turner Fund! ✨

The Joan Turner Fund is open to youth in Grades 8–12 whose parent or guardian is a registered 1Up parent. This fund is designed to help remove financial barriers to meaningful opportunities that support creativity, skill-building, personal skill development.

Funding may support workshops, certifications, creative programs, skill-building opportunities, specialized equipment or supplies required to participate in a program or opportunity — such as cleats for league sports programs, specialized art supplies for a course or workshop, or clothing/equipment required for a job, training program or chosen career path.

A letter of support is still required as part of the application process, and applicants must provide information about the specific opportunity they are applying for.

PLEASE NOTE: this fund is not for general recreation or standard community center programming, Or for any post secondary related costs.
